Larry Pogemiller to Exact Revenge--On The Backs of School Children

Part of Governor Pawlenty's effort to balance the Minnesota budget without raising taxes was to shift 27% of the funding to schools into the following year. Schools would have to borrow funds in the meantime, but they would get their money.

Not if Larry Pogemiller has anything to do with it.

According to a school administrator with whom I spoke recently, Pogemiller reportedly plans to refuse to verify Pawlenty's cost shifting measure, thus leaving the schools high and dry in 2011, just in time to harvest political hay for the 2012 election year.

Why? For one reason and one reason only. To exact revenge on Tim Pawlenty by blaming the lack of funding available to schools to him and to the Minnesota GOP.

So livid is the leadership of the Minnesota DFL that Pawlenty had to play the parent to balance the Minnesota budget, that they're willing to exact "scorched-earth"-style revenge on him and the MN GOP, even at the expense of much needed funding for Minnesota's schools.

But I know. Everything that Pogemiller, Margaret Kelliher, Tarryl Clark and the rest of the DFL leadership does is "for the chiiiiildren." Even if they have to shaft them in the process of helping them.

Your Friday Night Yuk-Yuk-Yuks..

Courtesy of Newsbusters:

Welcome to Lilliput

Or as it is known now, present-day Copenhagen:
European Union leaders on Friday offered to contribute money to a global fund to help developing countries tackle global warming hoping kick-start stalled talks on a new agreement on climate change.

But E.U. leaders disappointed climate campaigners by making the offer conditional on donations from other parts of the world and by failing to decide how much Europe would contribute to a global pot of up to 50 billion euros by 2020.

[SNIP

But environmental groups took a mostly negative view of the results of the two-day summit, saying E.U. leaders had chosen vague, global figures and thereby diminished chances of unblocking climate negotiations ahead of the meeting in Copenhagen.

"Europe has failed once again to say how much it is prepared to contribute for climate finance," said Sonja Meister, a climate campaign coordinator for Friends of the Earth Europe. "In every way the EU is shirking its historical responsibilities and blocking progress towards the just and fair agreement the world needs in Copenhagen," she said.
You see folks, this "global warming" scam has nothing to do with global warming, climate change, or any other rot you can think of.

The self-important, self-centered, self-anointed thieving bastards at "Friends of Earth Europe," are friends only unto themselves, and friends only unto their own pocketbooks. The not-so-secret-secret is that groups like The Sierra Club, Earth First and any other envirowhacko group (not to mention the fat cat Algore, a group unto himself) are nothing but shakedown artists, hellbent on transforming the entire earth and its economy into a communist dystopia, selling their vomit packaged as a heap of putrid, pus-filled feces otherwise known as 'climate change legislation,' (or, in this case, the Copenhagen treaty) while, of course, lining their own pockets in the process. Utilizing fear as their currency and browbeating as their clout, they promise to brand eunich politicians who don't bow at their altar of gaia as 'earth haters.'

The time is past nigh to finally hand these communist shakedown artists a collective middle finger, and tell them they can stick their demands where the sun doesn't shine.

Come on, EU leaders--grow some cajones. And while you're at it, pass along a pair to our own band of eunichs.

In a Grand Spirit of Open-ness...

The long-promised $1.055 TRILLION health care bill was introduced this morning. Nancy Pelosi and her fellow-travellers in Congress were SO PROUD of this leap to the left, that they blocked access to its unveiling to all but a few "invited guests."
The West side of the Capitol — the area where President Barack Obama was inaugurated — is traditionally open to the public. But the entrances were blocked off Thursday morning by metal fences, with Capitol police officers standing next to staff members holding clipboards with lists of approved attendees.
The money quote:
Democrats repeatedly touted the openness of the development of their health care bill, which House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer called "the most deliberative, transparent and open process" he had seen in his career on Capitol Hill.
Err... "May I see your papers, please?"

The Culture of Death: More Like the Nazis Than You Think

I have often been excoriated by the pro-abortion industry crowd for comparing the practice of abortion to the genocide practiced on the Jews by the Nazis in WWII. In their apoplexy, they claim that there is no comparison between the two heinous practices, and attempt to invoke Godwin's Law because I even attempted to make such a seemingly hyperbolic comparison.

But is the comparison with the practice of the killing of innocent developing human beings that different from what was practiced by the likes of Adolph Hitler, Josef Mengele, or for that matter, Pol Pot?

Many have heard the stories of the Nazis making bar soap from the bodies of the Jews that were exterminated by them.

Well, consider this:
Neocutis' key ingredient known as "Processed Skin Proteins" was developed at the University of Luasanne from the skin tissue of a 14-week gestation electively-aborted male baby donated by the University Hospital in Switzerland. Subsequently, a working cell bank was established, containing several billion cultured skin cells to produce the human growth factor needed to restore aging skin. The list of products using the cell line include: Bio-Gel, Journee, Bio-Serum, Prevedem, Bio Restorative Skin Cream and Lumiere. But Vinnedge is calling for a full boycott of all Neocutis products, regardless of their source.
Yep. using the remains of aborted developing human beings to make moisturizing skin lotion.

Given that according to legend, the Nazis utilized the remains of murdered Jews to manufacture bar soap, the actions of the culture of death as shown in this story suggest that it wouldn't be such an unfair comparison after all, would it?

Well, as Paul Harvey would say, "Hold the phone!"
  • "No human soap"? This is true, but misleading. Though there is some evidence that soap was made from corpses on a very limited experimental scale, the rumored "mass production" was never done, and no soap made from human corpses is known to exist.
  • Notwithstanding of the fact that millions of Jews (as well as Poles, Gypsies and others) suffered and died at the hands of the Nazis, the Nazis didn't actually make soap from human remains.

Thus, to compare the makers of this hand lotion to the Nazis is indeed an unfair comparison.

    These ghouls are far worse.

    Tarryl Clark's Magical Thinking

Two days ago, the new Granite City Crossing was christened in St. Cloud. Many luminaries were there, including Mayor (and former Minnesota state Senator) Dave Kleis, Michele Bachmann, Steve Gottwalt, and others. Some there gave speeches. For example, Congresswoman Bachmann,
...kept the focus on the "heart of Minnesota," our community, and particularly our business community. She noted the benefits of getting this bridge completed ahead of time and $15 million under budget. Jobs creation by our small businesses (you know -- the ones that make $200,000 or more and are the favorite targets of Democrats' tax increases) is essential if we want the resources to build bridges, repair roads, or anything else, including the family budget.
Democrat U.S. Senator Amy Klobuchar reportedly focused on the fear factor related to the Granite City Crossing and the I-35 bridge collapse. Al Franken, Minnesota's U.S. Senator via California, was a no-show. But perhaps the most telling speaker of all was none other than St. Cloud's own state Senator Tarryl Clark, who, according to Gottwalt,
...continued her tax-and-spend theme by focusing on the massive transportation tax increases of 2008 which she claimed were essential for the bridge to be done before 2015.
    Is that so, Tarryl?
That may be the source of revenue for this bridge, but the state had already planned funding to replace the bridge. Furthermore, by reprioritizing projects, MnDOT could have replaced the bridge with existing revenues. But Sen. Clark has to defend her incessant votes to raise taxes, and here was a juicy opportunity.
As is usually the case with most democrats, folks here in St. Cloud elected Tarryl Clark on her word that she was a moderate, fiscally responsible candidate. And as is invariably the case nationwide with the unfortunate aftermath of electing neo-socialist democrats, the electorate in St. Cloud no doubt have had a significant case of buyer's remorse.

Tarryl Clark, much like her fellow-travelers Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi, Amy Klobuchar, and Al Franken has overplayed her hand. She, like her neo-socialist counterparts at the local, state and national levels, went "all-in" on a fool's bet that Americans were ready for all-out socialism.

But in the end, and in the voter's booth, the American people hold the cards, and there is no doubt in my mind that they have lost their taste to gamble on failed socialist policies of expanding government and imploding freedoms.

    Obama to Negotiate with Wildfire

Illustrating the absurd, with the absurd--what The Onion does best:

    Little Shop of Horrors--Democrat Style

Remember the movie, Little Shop of Horrors, when Rick Moranis' nerdy character finally found a way to be popular, with help from a man-eating plant who demanded to be fed? Even though Moranis saw how evil this monster was, his wanting to be popular overrode any pangs of conscience he felt toward feeding it.

And we all know how that turned out:

Well, in that vein, with regard to the DNC and their pet monster ACORN, life is imitating art:
WASHINGTON - During consideration of H.R. 3126, legislation to establish a Consumer Financial Protection Agency (CFPA), Democrats on the House Financial Services Committee voted to pass an amendment offered by Rep. Maxine Waters (D-CA) that will make ACORN eligible to play a role in setting regulations for financial institutions.

The Waters amendment adds to the CFPA Oversight Board 5 representatives from the fields of "consumer protection, fair lending and civil rights, representatives of depository institutions that primarily serve underserved communities, or representatives of communities that have been significantly impacted by higher-priced mortgages" to join Federal banking regulators in advising the Director on the consistency of proposed regulations, and strategies and policies that the Director should undertake to enforce its rules.

By making representatives of ACORN and other consumer activist organizations eligible to serve on the Oversight Board, the amendment creates a potentially enormous government sanctioned conflict of interest. ACORN-type organizations will have an advisory role on regulating the very financial institutions from which they receive millions of dollars annually in direct corporate contributions and benefit from other financial partnerships and arrangements. These are the same organizations that pressured banks to make subprime mortgage loans and thus bear a major responsibility for the collapse of the housing market.
I guess the dems just can't help it, can they? After complaint upon criminal complaint launched against ACORN, Maxine Waters still has the chutzpah to offer them a place at the table for regulating the financial industry.

    Ain't corruption grand?

    The Maoists that Roared...

Is it really an overstatement to liken the current administration's philosophy to Chairman Mao Tse Tung?

I mean, it's not like these clowns weren't vetted properly... Oh, they were vetted, alright.

Remember, Obama comes from a radical left background. Saul Alinsky, Jeremiah Wright, Bill Ayers, and Bernadine Dohrn were more than just casual or accidental acquaintences. They were Barack Obama, and Barack Obama is them. So it was no accident that the Obama administration appointed the likes of Van Jones, Anita Dunn, Ron Bloom, and other radicals. As a matter of fact, those people were appointed on purpose; for the simple fact that they believe what Obama believes.

Secondly, is it really an overstatement to liken the current adminstration's philosophy and tactics to Mao? Is it really a stretch when Obama sends out his henchmen to single out and attack a media organ, and to encourage other more 'friendly' media organs to shun their brethren? And then himself goes on TV, and in an arrogant, smug, self-righteous manner applauds their efforts?

Is it really an overstatement to liken the current administration's philosophy and tactics to Mao, when Chairman Obama appoints a pay czar, who then takes great delight in dictating 90 percent pay cuts to CEOs of what should have been private businesses?

Can concentration camps be really that far behind?

Folks, how many more times must this administration walk, talk and quack like a Maoist before we realize that the resemblances are more than just a vague coincidence?

So...what did the AP know in 2004?

    From here:
Kenyan-born Obama all set for US Senate

Kenyan-born US Senate hopeful, Barrack Obama, appeared set to take over the Illinois Senate seat after his main rival, Jack Ryan, dropped out of the race on Friday night amid a furor over lurid sex club allegations.

The allegations that horrified fellow Republicans and caused his once-promising candidacy to implode in four short days have given Obama a clear lead as Republicans struggled to fetch an alternative.

Ryan’s campaign began to crumble on Monday following the release of embarrassing records from his divorce. In the records, his ex-wife, Boston Public actress Jeri Ryan, said her former husband took her to kinky sex clubs in Paris, New York and New Orleans.

    nh-obama.jpg (12114 bytes)
Now, the East African Standard is a Kenyan newspaper. But they do have their sources:

As recently as Thursday, spokesmen for the Ryan campaign still insisted that Ryan would remain in the race. Ryan had defended himself saying, "There’s no breaking of any laws. There’s no breaking of any marriage laws. There’s no breaking of the Ten Commandments anywhere."

    Friday Follies

Two Newfies walk into a pet shop in St. John's and walk over to the bird section and Gerry says to George, 'Dat's dem.'

The owner comes over and asks if he can help them.

'Yeah, we'll take four of dem dere little budgies in dat cage up dere,' says George.

The owner puts the budgies in a cardboard box.

George and Gerry pay for the birds, leave the shop and get into Gerry's truck to drive to the top of Signal Hill.

At Signal Hill Gerry looks down at the 1000 foot drop and says, 'Dis looks like a grand place.'

He takes two birds out of the box, puts one on each shoulder and jumps off the cliff.

George watches as the budgies fly off and Gerry falls all the way to the bottom, killing himself stone dead.

Looking down at the remains of his best pal, George shakes his head and says, 'Foget dat.. Dis budgie jumping is too dangerous for me!'

    THERE'S MORE....

    Moment's later; Seamus arrives.

He's been to the pet shop too and walks up to the edge of the cliff carrying another cardboard box in one hand and a shotgun in the other.

'Hi, George, watch dis,' Seamus says.

He takes a parrot from the box and lets him fly free.

He then throws himself over the edge of the cliff with the gun.

George watches as half way down, Seamus takes the gun and shoots the parrot..

Seamus continues to plummet down and down until he hits the bottom and breaks every bone in his body.

George shakes his head and says, 'And I'm never trying dat parrotshooting either!'

    IT IS NOT OVER YET...

George is just getting over the shock of losing two friends when Bren appears.

He's also been to the pet shop and is carrying a cardboard box out of which he pulls a chicken.

Bren then takes the chicken by its legs and hurls himself off the cliff and disappears down until he hits a rock and breaks his spine.

Once more George shakes his head.
'Foget dat, lads. First dere was Gerry with his budgie jumping, den Seamus parrotshooting... And now Bren and his hengliding!'

Scorched Earth: Dems To Exercise Nuclear Option on Obamacare!

Connie Hair on Human Events reports:

The bill certified for “reconciliation” is the Ways & Means version of H.R. 3200 that was passed out of committee before the August break, and before it was read aloud at town hall meetings across the country and blasted by voters across the country.

It contains all of the horrors previously exposed: federal funding of abortion, coverage for illegal aliens, comparative effectiveness, healthcare rationing, deep cuts to Medicare. Everything the American people overwhelmingly reject.

No amendments were allowed at the hearing and no debate. Rangel told Rep. Dave Camp (R-Mich.), the ranking Republican on the committee, that he would not have preferred to do it this way, but leadership — i.e., Speaker Pelosi — forced his hand.

Damn the torpedoes, full speed ahead. By so obviously thwarting the will of a vast majority of the American people, It would appear to that the democrats are quite willing to relegate themselves into a permanent minority, if it will advance America’s downward spiral into the bowels of their great socialist experiment.

    They want it that bad.

The ends, after all, justify the means.

    ~Can't Buy Me Love~

Cause I don't care too much for money, money can't buy me love

Not only is it a great retro Beatles tune, it's a song that Jihad Jack Murtha is getting to know quite well:

A Democratic congressional candidate in Florida returned a campaign check from House Appropriations Defense Subcommittee Chairman John Murtha’s PAC, offering further evidence that Democrats in competitive races are worried about being linked to Murtha, who has come under intense scrutiny for his earmarking practices.

Lori Edwards, running in a GOP-leaning district in Florida, gave back $1,000 in Murtha money earlier this summer, shortly before the House killed a resolution from Rep. Jeff Flake (R-Ariz.) demanding a probe into earmarks and contributions related to the now-defunct PMA Group lobbying firm, run by former Appropriations Committee aide Paul Magliocchetti. The returned check was revealed in the October campaign finance reports released Wednesday.

More than 100 House members secured earmarks for clients of the PMA Group in the Murtha-written fiscal 2008 defense spending bill alone, and those members had taken in more than $1.8 million in campaign contributions from the PMA Group’s political action committee and its employees since 2001, according to CQ Politics.

Murtha, the most prolific in securing earmarks for PMA clients, had received the second most campaign contributions from the group, behind fellow defense appropriator Pete Visclosky of Indiana.

Flake spent months trying to pressure the House to force an ethics investigation, and around the time Edwards returned her Murtha money, more Democrats were beginning to distance themselves from Murtha. Though Democratic leaders were able to fend off the Flake efforts, 29 Democrats — mostly from swing districts — voted with Flake on one of his Murtha-related resolutions.

    Mark Ritchie--D-ACORN

I reported on Mark Ritchie and his association with Peace Coffee here. Blogger extraordinaire Drew Emmer from Wright County Republican found more interesting information about Mark Ritchie's 'enterprise':
It's amazing what the unintended consequences are of an inquiry about Peace Coffee. A friend asked about the beans being sold for charitable purposes at his local parish. God bless The Google. What did we discover? More than just a stimulating cup of Joe.

Minnesota Secretary of State Mark Ritchie is the "registered agent" for the Tides Center, alleged to be one of the most corrupt players in American political money laundering.

Ben Kopp has been a fighter since the day he was born. When he was born his mother was given morphine to stop her labor so the doctors could deliver her via a cesarean section. But it caused his heart rate to slow and when he was born he wasn't breathing. But he recovered to the amazement of everyone. "Ben has always been up for a challenge," said his mother, Jill Stephenson. "He came into the world a fighter."

On July 10, 2009, Cpl. Benjamin Kopp was wounded in the Helmand province of Afghanistan. He was hit in the knee that hit his popliteal artery and the loss of blood caused him to go into cardiac arrest on the operating table at a battalion surgical center. As a result of his injuries, Cpl. Kopp developed swelling in his brain was put into an induced coma to try and save his life. But he died on July 18.

But his service didn't end with his passing. Upon his death, by his own desire, his organs were donated to people in need saving their lives.

"Please continue to say prayers for all of the men and women who so proudly serve our country," Stephenson wrote online. "Ben had a deep love of country and has just left a legacy of heroism for all of us to cherish. Be as proud of him as I was as his mother."

Send A Message to the Left

Many, if not most of you may have heard about the woman of whom I am proud to have as my Minnesota 6th District Congresswoman, Michele Bachmann, who is continually under assault for doing what she does best, speaking the truth. As of now, there is a ton of money pouring into her opponent's coffers from big unions, Moveon.org, George Soros and others. As a result, Congresswoman Bachmann is asking for our help:
"Everyday, it must seem that Washington just isn’t listening to you. In fact, it must seem they’re doing their best to work against your interests. Those of us who call ourselves Republicans, or worse yet conservatives, are denigrated as crazy, nuts, wacko, extreme, racist, fill in your derogatory adjective. They say we’re more interesting in stopping progress than in making reforms. The White House refuses to work with Fox News, saying it is a “wing of the Republican party.” This isn’t conjecture; these are the words of the Communications Director of the White House.

You and I know the truth: We’re not being obstructionists. The problem is that the proposals coming out of Washington – from cap-and-trade to bailout mania to socialized medicine – are simply bad public policy. We don’t believe that government is inherently evil, set out to destroy the hopes and aspirations of its citizens, no matter how some media outlets portray us. We realize that an unchecked government can get too big for its own good. And,we know that right now in Washington, this Administration and this Congress have forgotten the tried and true principle of our founding – that the government works for the people, not the other way around.

They seem intent on plowing forward with their agenda no matter how many town halls you speak at or tea parties you attend.

Look around and you’ll see the warning signs about the plummeting value of our dollar. Overseas, the sharks are circling and calling for a reevaluation of the prominent spot the dollar has long enjoyed. Yet, Washington continues to spend and spend and borrow and spend with no regard to our skyrocketing debt and annual deficits. Something has got to give."

Republicans have put forth alternatives to every proposal — and our alternatives won’t break the bank. When we’re lucky, they get lip service from the Democrat majority. More often, they don’t even get a debate. And this from a majority that promised to end partisan bickering and bring true transparency to the legislative process!

They have an agenda of their own and they’re on a path to increase spending as well as the size and scope of government on every issue. They’re out to protect their friends — like ACORN — regardless of what it costs you and what it will cost our nation’s future.

Don’t give up! I hear you. And, there are others in Congress who hear you, too. Today, let’s send a message to Washington that they can’t ignore. I promise to keep speaking the truth for all of you, but I need your help to do it. Is it worth just a few minutes of your time and a few dollars to make sure Washington gets the message that ENOUGH IS ENOUGH?
Ms. Bachmann is one person in Washington who isn't afraid to loudly proclaim that our current socialist 'emperor' has no clothes. If you agree with this, please let Ms. Bachmann know by supporting her with a generous contribution.

    Andy Gildea writes:

(Yet the DFL has) told small business owners and employers every day for nearly three years that they are not paying their “fair share” of Minnesota taxes.

They have been threatened constantly with higher income taxes, higher business taxes, higher property taxes, higher taxes on their investments in business expansions, and virtually every other tax.

The DFL have also voted to raise every person’s income tax rates, create a new top income tax rate, and eliminate the income-tax deduction for interest paid on home mortgages.

As a consequence, employers have not felt positive about investing in Minnesota jobs. In fact, the unemployment rate has increased by about 50% since the DFL took control of the House.

Is it any wonder that places like South Dakota and Iowa have been successfully courting jobs away from Minnesota for the past two to three years?

Electing the absolutely clueless to perform important functions has its consequences. Consequences that should now be all too apparent to anyone with any kind of a clue.

Quote of the Day...A harbinger from Ayn Rand

"Watch money. Money is the barometer of a society's virtue. When you see that trading is done, not by consent but by compulsion, when you see that in order to produce, you need to obtain permission from men who produce nothing, when you see that money is flowing to those who deal not in goods but in favors, when you see that men get richer by graft and by pull than by work and your laws don't protect you against them, but protect them against you, when you see corruption being rewarded and honesty becoming a self-sacrifice, you may know that your society is doomed."

Swine Flu Vaccinations and other Tinfoil Hat Musings..

Yet plans continue to be enacted that will make it possible to enforce quarantine measures for this flu.

And in what may or may not be a related issue, plans are going ahead to develop Obama's at once cryptic and famed National Civilian Security Force (HR-675),
To amend title 10, United States Code, to provide police officers, criminal investigators, and game law enforcement officers of the Department of Defense with authority to execute warrants, make arrests, and carry firearms.
Civilian anything with arrest powers emanating from the Department of Defense should be considered scary in anyone's book, and considered in direct violation of Posse Comitatus. I mean, we already have the FBI, the Border Patrol, and the National Forest Service, which are entirely civilian, not military organizations.

    Remember this:

At the risk of invoking Godwin, will his new DOD umbrella'd civilian security force by any chance be wearing brown shirts with Obama-logo'd arm bands?

When Obama spoke about his civilian national security force during the campaign, I looked upon the statement in incredulity, and had hoped that Obama was in some cocaine-induced flashback episode of incoherence, though in my heart of hearts I knew otherwise.

And my heart of hearts, as is usually the case, was right.

A little ditty, inspired by indoctrination

Unless you've been living under a rock for the past week, you have no doubt seen or heard this little ditty:

Well, I have another verse that the little crumb crunchers could sing, based on yesterday's Obama's Olympic-level FAIL:

Barack Hussein Obama hm hm hm
Couldn't even charm yo mama hm hm hm
Michelle & he to the IOC made their plea but it wouldn't be hm..hm..hm..

We now return you to your originally-scheduled indoctrination program for our Dear Leader.

More of Obama's Dream of the End of American Exceptionalism

The U.S. relinquishes control of the internet:
Icann had previously been operating under the auspices of the American government, which had control of the net thanks to its initial role in developing the underlying technologies used for connecting computers together.

But the fresh focus will give other countries a more prominent role in determining what takes place online, and even the way in which it happens – opening the door for a virtual United Nations, where many officials gather to discuss potential changes to the internet.

So, welcome to our brave new world, where foreign countries control what goes over our internet.

Barack Obama is playing a perverse Robin Hood, giving away everything that's ours, including our dignity as a nation, to assuage his own liberal guilt for America's successes and to see through his death wish for America as we know it. Ever since his Annenberg Challenge and Jeremiah Wright days, it's been Obama's aim to tear down America from its former greatness and turn it into a third rate socialist tinhorn banana republic.

American exceptionalism and greatness are not in the working vernacular of one Barack Hussein Obama (I challenge you to find any of those words in any of his speeches). As a matter of fact, Mr. Obama is doing his level best to ensure that the concepts of exceptionalism and greatness never darken America's shores again.

    Welcome to hopenchange, folks.

    Shit.
