A comedy of egos?

Cheney goes out hunting. Cheney accidently shoots his partner. Cheney and company wait 18 hours before putting the story out, presumably in order to be sure of what they were dealing with. Cheney admits same, takes responsibility. End of story, right?

SO why does the dinosaur media still have their panties in a bundle?? From here:

What seems to have stoked this story into a White House press corps wildfire is how long it took for anyone in the media to find out about the mishap and the way in which it was eventually disseminated. (emphasis added)

According to the White House, the president was informed of the accident Saturday night, a couple of hours after it happened. Scott McClellan, the White House press secretary, was not informed of the vice president's involvement until around 6 a.m. on Sunday morning.

It wasn't until later on Sunday -- after the owner of the ranch, Katharine Armstrong, who witnessed the shooting and called her local paper -- that the story started to get out.

SO--that's the crime. They called the local paper and didn't notify CNN. The primadonna press didn't get their story first.

Well, boo-friggen hoo. Since when is the press a part of the government? Since when are they to be spoon-fed anything without inquiry? Last time I checked, it wasn't in the Constitution, nor even statute.

So the dinosaur MSM got their poor wittle feelings hurt, and throw a collective tantrum like a teenage girl who was asked last for a prom date.

Geeze--you want news? Do it the old fashioned way. Get it. Investigate it. You're not owed it.
