An Open Letter to Representative Tama Theis

Dear Representative Theis: 

As you hopefully have noticed by now, the Federal government is out of control. The tentacles of their overreach are firmly entrenched in our businesses, our lives, even our religion. There is no sign of pulling back, only moving forward with the stranglehold that they have on the individual and economic liberties of the American people. 

There doesn't seem to be a way to decrease the size, scope and intrusiveness of government. They are too drunk with power to release any of their influence, and seem hellbent on increasing it even more. No matter who is elected to Congress, from no matter which party, the status quo continues and the tentacles of government continue to grow and to tighten their stranglehold on the American people. 

You've got to recognize it, too, Tama. Stop what you're doing and take a look around at what is happening. The loss of our liberties and the decay of our society is happening at breakneck speed, with no sign of slowing down. There is no way that the power-hungry apparatus in Washington D.C. will relinquish any of their power, no matter who is elected, UNLESS the several States take action. 

I call on you, Tama, to put forth a resolution that Minnesota join the 29 other states who have called for a Constitutional Convention to wrest back control from the Federal Government and give it back to the States and to the People respectively.

Things are out of control, Tama. You know it and I know it. 

It's up to the Minnesota legislator and We the People to do something about it. 

Remember Ronald Reagan's quote, (paraphrased), "I don't want to live in the generation that has to explain to their grandchildren what it was like to be free." 

All the exit ramps on the Federal Government Highway to Hell expressway to a brick wall have been passed, with no sign of slowing down, but rather myriad signs of exponentially-increasing breakneck speed. 

I implore you, Representative Theis, to put forth an Article V resolution and join other State legislatures who are calling for a Constitutional Convention.

Dear Speaker Boehner:

There is nothing I'd like better than to keep the United States House of Representatives in *conservative* hands. 

Regarding that issue, we wholeheartedly agree.

In that spirit, could you kindly resign your tenure as Speaker of the House?

Under your leadership, Obamacare is still the law of the land. Those responsible for allowing four Americans to be murdered in Benghazi are yet to be held accountable. The Constitutional abuses of the IRS scandal, the "Fast & Furious" federal gun-running scandal, and NSA scandals continue to go un-investigated, and Obama continues to be held unaccountable. Under your 'leadership,' the Republicans in the House of Representatives have done nothing to hold the Obama administration accountable for their overreach and malfeasance and assaults on our Constitutional liberties. You supposedly practiced brinkmanship when Obama forced a government shutdown, but then acted like you owned it, and ran with your tail between your legs. It's been "go along to get along" ever since.

And now you want to cave and give special treatment to those scofflaws who ignore our immigration laws.

Your team put up a nice graphic on Facebook today in response to President Obama's "I have a pen" comment, to which you replied, "We have the Constitution."

However, as much as you hold up the Constitution and parade it around like a golden calf, you have displayed no real intention of upholding it. As your actions and inaction have clearly demonstrated, to you, the Constitution is nothing more than window-dressing in a photo-op.

Speaker Boehner, you have on many occasions taken a solemn oath and promise to uphold the Constitution.

After taking those solemn oaths, on multiple occasions, you have demonstrated that your promises are as empty as must be your conscience.

If you really believe that the Constitution must be kept in conservative hands, I call upon you to resign your office as Speaker of the House of Representatives.

Whether or not your constituency in the 8th District of Ohio continues to re-elect you to as their representative in Congress is their business.

The office you hold as Speaker, however, is *our* business. You have lost the trust and confidence of those of us in the Republican Party.

You have lost the trust of the nation.

Time for you to resign, Mr. Speaker.

Burger Flipper Economics 101

Exploitation?
Really???

These people say they “deserve” $15 per hour. They are ENTITLED to it.

Contrary to what the populist Chairman Obamao bloviates, it’s not about what people “deserve.” It’s about what value people bring to the market– what set of skills they bring to the table and how marketable and valuable that skill set is.

People who can flip burgers or keep a menu straight are a dime a dozen. That doesn’t make them bad or inferior as people, it’s just that there are many, many people with that skill set who can fill that position.

If someone is terminated or quits a burger flipper position, the pool of people who possess and/or can be easily trained for that skill set is enormous. That position can be easily filled.

People who can successfully manage and run a restaurant and its finances have a different skill set. Though they are still ubiquitous in number, they are fewer in number than the burger flippers. They get paid a little higher, because people with the more specialized skill set are higher in demand.

People who can do neurosurgery, or for that matter who can play ball at the major league level, are very few in number–they bring an esoteric skill set– they are very few in number, and very, very few people can fill their shoes if they leave.

A higher wage is commanded by such people, because of the value they bring, like rare, fine diamonds– they are higher in price because they aren’t found everywhere. The market screams for such talent, yet such talent is so rare, that the talent must be compensated well in order to keep that talent.

It’s basic market economics, people!

QUESTION: How many of you think fast food workers “deserve” 15 dollars an hour????

White House is Staging a Bloodless Coup

OK, folks--here's the deal- I don't think too many people are realizing this:

1. We currently gather TEN TIMES the amount of revenue required to service our debt, EVERY MONTH.

2. The 14th Amendment states that WE MUST honor and service our debts; meaning that paying and servicing debt MUST COME FIRST. 

3. Barack Obama has been threatening that we WILL DEFAULT on our debt if the debt ceiling is not raised in two days. 

4. The ONLY way this can happen, is if Barack Obama IGNORES the 14th Amendment and REFUSES to service the debt. This means that Barack Obama MUST OPENLY DEFY the Constitution to bring about what he threatens will happen. 

5. Understand also that I believe that Barack Obama FULLY INTENDS to carry out his threat. I believe that Barack Obama MEANS, in direct opposition to the 14th Amendment, to ALLOW the United States to go into default. Like a terrorist with his finger on the button of his suicide vest, he is threatening to DESTROY THE FULL FAITH AND CREDIT OF THE UNITED STATES, placing our economy in RUIN, unless Congress meets his every demand.

6. In effect, Barack Obama is staging what amounts to nothing less than a COUP-- a complete usurpation of the power of the purse that IS EXCLUSIVELY THE PURVIEW of the duly and locally elected United States House of Representatives. 

7. In completely and WILLFULLY ignoring his Constitutional responsibilities with respect to the 14th Amendment, Barack Obama has effectually denounced the primacy of the U.S. Constitution. He is effectively governing by EXECUTIVE FIAT.

In other words, Barack Obama HAS THROWN AWAY THE CONSTITUTION and is in effect GOVERNING AS A DICTATOR! 

UNDERSTAND THIS, PEOPLE--THIS IS NOT HYPERBOLE!

With A Measure of Disgust.

“I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter: So help me God.” -Oath of office for Congress.

Just words– without one iota of thought as to what those words mean.

I’m just getting more and more nauseated every time I think of this whole damned bunch of traitors, liars, opportunists, and career criminals.

I’ve lost every iota of optimism and faith in government.

They are no longer public servants, placed in a position of trust.

They–the lot of them– are self-serving, egotistical leeches who are in it for no one but themselves.

The inmates have taken over the asylum.

God have mercy on our nation, and please, drain the swamp, once and for all.

I’m so disgusted.

An Open Letter to NBC

I wrote this to NBC news earlier today, but it could be easily applied to any of the fellow-traveler networks:

Dear NBC News:

You no doubt have now heard the news that the Obama administration’s Situation Room had received word of the terrorist nature of the Benghazi attack no later than two hours after it began. They did NOTHING to protect the lives of those in the Embassy compound. President Obama went to sleep, then jetted off to Las Vegas to raise campaign cash, meanwhile, relying on a manufactured cover story of some locals being riled up over a YouTube video that wasn’t seen.

There wasn’t any report in the cables or emails about a protest preceding the attack. The attack lasted over 7 hours before the final two occupants of the compound were murdered. And the Obama administration did NOTHING to help. Instead, they continued their COVER-UP of the video story, for WEEKS afterward.

I listened to the NBC news top of the hour radio broadcast. Not ONE WORD of the above. Just Obama giving his “Romnesia” line, and something about his jetting 5000 or so miles today campaigning.

What– somehow you don’t think that these developments in Benghazi are NEWSWORTHY? That the administration not only knew of the attack, but refused to take action to protect the embassy occupants? And then, COVERED IT UP, LYING about the nature of the attack, and making his underlings spread his propaganda, FOR WEEKS, until the cover story collapsed under the weight of contrary evidence?

Not to mention that there remains an INNOCENT man still sitting in jail!! (Don’t tell me it had nothing to do with Obama’s cover story!!))

WHERE ARE WOODWARD AND BERNSTEIN????

Are you SO enamored, so infatuated with this president, that you, the press, are willing to be derelict to your Constitutional First Amendment duty and to cover up for his abject malfeasance? They did that with State-Controlled media in Soviet Russia. They do that in China. They have no choice. YOU HAVE A CHOICE!!

"Hello, Is This Thing On?"

Obama lifted his political skirt today as the media is now awash in how in a supposedly 'hot mic' unscheduled moment he told Russian President Dimitri Medvedev to pretty much 'chill out' and that he'd have much more 'flexibility' after winning his second term.

The main question to ask here, of course, is "Flexibility to do what?"

Well, perhaps candidate Obama can give us some clues:



In the full video, then-candidate Obama later stated that he is fully committed to the policy as outlined above, and that he will "keep (his) promises."

But before you go dismissing out of hand the notion that Barack Obama keeps any of his promises, consider this:

Obama promised that health care 'reform' will pass; it did so, even though via the auspices of Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid, we indeed did not find out what was in the bill until it was passed.

During the campaign, then-candidate Obama also promised that under his policies, the cost of electricity/energy will "necessarily skyrocket."

That too, has become reality.

There are some promises, of course, that Obama chose not to keep; and one could argue never intended to keep. One was that you'd be able to keep your doctor and your health plan under Obamacare; another that the public would never be forced to pay for an abortion under Obamacare; you know, lipstick-on-a-pig type stuff.

But make no mistake. Obama is a dyed in the wool socialist. Any promise he has made that will serve to further his neo-socialist agenda, and in the process compromise America's economic and military security (remember, America is arrogant and needs to be taken down a few notches), you can bet your bottom dollar (that is, if you have any dollars left when he's done with the economy) he will keep.

So, sleep peacefully under Obama's second term, knowing that he fully intends to bring the United States into the community of feckless, neutered, third-world nations.

How's that hopenchange working for you, anyway?

Can I Hear an AMEN?

I am a Catholic-- A fallen-away Catholic, but a Catholic, to be sure. I believe in the infallible tenets of the Trinity, the Immaculate Conception, Transubstantiation, and other Church doctrine; but I could no longer abide the turn for the worse in these past four decades in how the middle-heirarchy of the Church, mainly Bishops (and errant Priests) led the Flock astray, by promoting a godless, unattainable socialist utopia on earth via the "social justice" movement. They would get in bed with anyone to make it happen, including the most pro-abortion President in the history of the United States, Barack Hussein Obama. They were more than willing to walk over the corpses of dead babies if it were to achieve their godless, earthly dream--

And then I saw this article, on Red State this morning, and I said AMEN!!! Someone gets it and isn't afraid to excoriate the Bishops who have led their flock astray--

These are just a few of the paragraphs-- I encourage everyone to read the whole enchilada-- this NEEDS to be said to save the Catholic Church!

Or, We are infallible on matters of faith expressed through the Tradition or through an ecumenical Council, but we can err on policy, and hoo-boy, did we blow this one. Who among you spoke out last week and said, Attention my flock: I must now inform you that the Democratic Party has proven once and for all that if you vote for a Democrat in this country, you engage in material cooperation with evil. We will now be holding weekly mass Confession to handle the backlog until it clears.

Because that is truth. In 2009 and 2010, nominally faithful Catholics who value all of the policy choices you do — labor unions, forced charity, high rates of taxation, urban ghettoes, and of course, universal “health care” — and who claimed to be ardent defenders of the unborn sold out to a one, sacrificed millions of babies and betrayed the infallible teaching of their faith so they could get one gigantic step closer to the social justice you so crave.

And for that, for that moment when they put aside their baptismal and confirmation vows, repeated every Easter, and their recitation of whatever version of the Nicene Creed you’ve settled on this week, your response was … applause. Silence. Satisfaction. A professed willingness to work with the Administration.

You made all of this possible. For almost my entire life, you have given my fellow Catholics every reason to believe they can freely sin, and hey, no problem, so long as they favor higher taxation and government spending. They can murder the unborn, and I have had all of two homilies, two, in my entire time as a Catholic, which is to say from birth and for the thirty-five years after, in parishes and dioceses across the country, in which a priest has said, If you have had, caused, or aided in obtaining an abortion, and you take communion today, you will go to Hell. You look out into your emptying pews, terrified of the wood you see and the flesh you don’t, through families of one, two, or sometimes amazingly three children, and think, Well, at least they’re still coming, as if you do not understand the connection between these things.

Wisconsin Republican Rep. Jim Sensenbrenner, a former chairman of the House Judiciary Committee where Attorney General Eric Holder testified on Thursday, suggested that impeachment of administration officials involved with Operation Fast and Furious may be the only way to bring the scandal to a close.

In a heated exchange between Sensenbrenner and Holder during Thursday’s Judiciary Committee hearing, Sensenbrenner said impeachment is one option on the table if Holder and the Justice Department continue to withhold information from congressional investigators.

Sensenbrenner didn’t specify which administration officials he thinks could face impeachment proceedings, or if Holder is among them. But he did say the drastic measure would be a last resort.

“There is really no responsibility within the Justice Department,” Sensenbrenner said. “The thing is, if we don’t get to the bottom of this — and that requires your assistance on that — there is only alternative that Congress has and it is called impeachment,

Folks-- This IS an IMPEACHABLE offense-- and that's not hyperbole. The Obama justice department, via Fast & Furious, has become complicit with and a party to out-and-out MURDER, with hundreds of innocent people, including one brave U.S. border control agent, dead as a result of this program--all designed to make it easier for the Obama administration to impinge on 2nd amendment rights. This is nothing less than unconscionable; a criminal act worthy of the rank of "High Crimes and Misdemeanors." Holder must resign. Obama must resign or be impeached.

While anything having to do with even the word "Nazis" has inherent shock value (including the the fact that there even continue to be hate groups such as this), what isn't necessarily surprising is that they are in solidarity with the #Occupy movement.

Now before you go all Godwin on me in this case (actually, you can't-- it is the Nazis' chosen solidarity with the #Occupy movement that makes the movement itself de facto Reducto ad Hitlerum), let me state my case.

First of all, the #Occupy demands (official or not) are incompatible with a free society. #OWS protesters do NOT want a free society. They do not want capitalism. I'm going to come right out and say it: they in fact, want communism. Communism, as history has shown time and time again, has invariably led to lives of misery and untold oppression, not to mention the murder of literally tens of millions of people.

Second, despite what they may tell you, #OWS protestors are not just a bunch of peaceful, warm & fuzzy (albeit pungent) hippies. As there is no way their demands can be met within the legislative process, other than by throwing away the United States Constitution, in order for their utopian society to be realized, an overthrow of the Constitution must be undertaken, and with it, an unavoidably violent revolution. They (at least the politically astute among them) know this. Karl Marx knew this. Lenin knew this. Mao Tse Tung knew this. Castro knew this. Adolph Hitler knew this. And the American Nazi Party knows this.

Third, there is a viral antisemitic theme threading throughout the global and domestic #Occupy movement. There must always be a scapegoat around which one can rally their useful idiots. The #Occupy folks have rallied their troops around minority Jewish bankers...capitalists..that happen to be rich. A veritable trifecta of a target!

And lastly, it should be noted that many democrats of note, including our President, have also sided with the #Occupy crowd.

Envy, oppression, violence, murder, misery.

When it comes down to it, my friends, communists, Nazis, and the Occupy Wall Street crowd are nothing more than different feathers on the same bird.

Obama has made it no secret that he wants to take the United States down some notches. His insufferable vendetta against the United States has led to 'necessarily' skyrocketing energy costs. He has bowed and cowtowed to nearly every tyrant known to the world, while at the same time dissing long-time traditional allies of the United States. And now, his administration has singlehandedly decreased your purchasing power:

US Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner shocked global markets by revealing that Washington is “quite open” to Chinese proposals for the gradual development of a global reserve currency run by the International Monetary Fund.

The dollar plunged instantly against the euro, yen, and sterling as the comments flashed across trading screens. David Bloom, currency chief at HSBC, said the apparent policy shift amounts to an earthquake in geo-finance.

“The mere fact that the US Treasury Secretary is even entertaining thoughts that the dollar may cease being the anchor of the global monetary system has caused consternation,” he said.

Mr Geithner later qualified his remarks, insisting that the dollar would remain the “world’s dominant reserve currency … for a long period of time” but the seeds of doubt have been sown.

So... How's that hopenchange working for you?

MMGW and Mental Illness?

Now they're blaming everything from cancer to mental illness on global warming (emphases added):

(CNSNews.com) – A new government report says global warming could lead to an increase in both cancer and mental illness worldwide, and it calls for more federally funded research to determine how that might happen. [And monkey's just might fly out of my posterior, too. I wonder if I should apply for a grant--ed.]

The report, A Human Health Perspective on Climate Change, was published by the Interagency Working Group on Climate Change and Health – a combination of scientists from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, NIH, State Department, National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, Department of Agriculture, the EPA, and the Department of Health and Human Services.

First of all, the audacity of linking mental health to global warming is itself the near-definition of being unhinged. But these 'scientists' (and I use the term loosely) are covering all their bases on finding a raison d' etre in their desperate quest for relevancy; even going so far as to throw Obama's beloved green jobs under the bus:

The report's overall thrust is for more federally funded research to investigate the alleged links between global warming and public health, including the [Get this--ed] potentially negative effects from warming and the potentially negative side-effect of green technologies.

This report, funded courtesy of your tax dollars, is filled with all the doublespeak and pointy-headed gobbledygook that we've come to know and love from academia:

Despite these warnings and predictions, the report admitted that the government knows little about whether or not any of these supposed new causes of cancer will actually cause any more cancer.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but something either causes cancer, or it doesn't. If it doesn't actually cause, cancer, then it must not really be a cause of cancer, new or otherwise.

Onward and upward now, as we sally forth into mental illness:

“The most common mental health conditions associated with extreme events range from acute traumatic stress to more chronic stress-related conditions such as post-traumatic stress disorder, complicated grief, depression, anxiety disorders, somatic complaints, poor concentration, sleep difficulties, sexual dysfunction, social avoidance, irritability, and drug or alcohol abuse,” reads the report.

No doubt Viagra folks are now in the process of hiring hobos to empty spray cans into the atmosphere to hasten the process.

Of course, these clowns warn that more taxpayer funded research is needed:

As with global warming-caused cancer, the report admits that much more scientific work is needed on the links between global warming and mental illness, saying “numerous research gaps exist.”

As Bugs Bunny would say, "What a bunch of maroons."

But in all seriousness, Mental illness is only part of it.

The other part of it is the 'scientific' community grasping at straws, now that their global warming strawman has been uncovered.

No doubt, research funds are now drying up, and they're looking for any angle, any angle or crisis, manufactured or otherwise, to which they could attach as a raison d'etre to extend their greasy, grimy, malfesant claws to beg for more money from the public trough.

They used to have credibility. They lost it. They used to wield a lot of power in terms of influencing legislation and policy; now they are held as laughingstock by all except for the ever-declining numbers of fellow-travellers remaining in their ever-shrinking echo-chambers (unfortunately, the current POTUS remains among their declining ranks).

Look for them to become more rabid, more shrieking,, more unhinged and to make even more outlandish claims as their relevancy diminishes even further as their nefarious aims and quack methodologies continue to be exposed.

On Giving the Devil His Due

It took a Carter to give us a Reagan; it took Obama for the nation to wake up to the fact that all-out socialism ain't all it's cracked up to be.

If it wasn't for Obama's ambitious agenda of radical, in-your-face socialist, statist 'change,' I think it would have literally been a decade or two before folks would have been awakened; since prior to Obama, a slow incrementalism, steady-as-she-goes march toward socialism was the order of the day. We would have been as sleeping insects on a spider's web, being slowly yet firmly entangled in the web of socialism until it was too late to crawl out of it.

Obama's ambitious agenda, while damaging, hasn't yet taken its full toll, and in my estimation, the leftward list can still be corrected, and the ship can be now be righted before any permanent damage takes hold.

As Nazi Germany most likely would had never been vanquished had the Japanese not attacked Pearl Harbor, I believe that the decades-long onerous march toward socialism and statism will never have been slowed had Obama not been elected.

Rahm Emanuel once quipped that a 'good crisis' should never go to waste.

That phrase came as a warning shot across the bow of a complacent, sleepy American electorate. The American people wisely heeded Emanuel's advice; took note of the impending crisis of their loss of liberties and encroachment of the State, and in the form of Tea Partys, Washington protests, and heretofore unheard-of electoral victories in special elections, have since seized the opportunity to stop the march of socialism dead in its tracks, and are in the process of giving it a swift kick to the rear of the bus for what should be a long time to come.

In this sense, and in this sense only, I believe that we may actually owe Barack Hussein Obama (mm..mm..mm.. pbuh) a debt of gratitude.

On 'Celebrating' Earth Day...

MPR (Minnesota Public Radio) asked me for my input on how I plan to 'celebrate' Earth Day.

I responded with the following:

I never used to have anything personally against "Earth Day," until I started recognizing the environmental movement for what it is--less about the environment and more about political control and intrusiveness into everyone's lives. Doctored and outright falsified data that has come to light within this past year has virtually cemented what I suspected all along, that the concept of 'environmentalism' is but a vehicle through which to push through a radical political agenda (i.e., Cap & Trade, strict controls on oil & domestic energy resources, usurpation of private property rights), via any means necessary, including prevarication.

I have nothing against clean water and clean air.

But in actuality clean water and clean air have proven to be at best secondary concerns with respect to many of the leadership of the environmental movement.

Their deceitful brand of 'scientific methodology' and specious bromides should serve to give them no more credibility nor credence than one should give to a patent medicine huckster or carnival barker.

I guess I won't hold my breath waiting to see if they chose my response to publish.

This legislation will put Americans in control of their own health care, rein in insurance-company abuses, and give millions of Americans access to affordable health care for the first time.

Special interests know that in the coming months, all their lies about reform will be proven false. But that won't stop them from inventing new ones and spreading attack ads.

It's just the first step, but one letter from a constituent is worth a hundred paid advertisements. So please make sure your friends and neighbors understand the benefits this law will bring to ordinary Americans -- take three minutes and write a paragraph or two now:

Well, shucks--that was mighty nice of ol' Joe--I mean--to offer the resources of Organizing for America to write a letter of 'thanks' to Amy Klobuchar and Al Franken for their thoughtful consideration in voting for Obamacare! It was so nice, that I thought I would take him up on his offer. So, I wrote the following LTE to the St. Cloud Times, the Star Tribune, and the Duluth Tribune, all on OFA's dime:

I am writing this letter to voice my disgust over Senators Al Franken and Amy Klobuchar's blind passage of the behemoth health care bill that is neither about bringing down the cost of health care nor of expanding the coverage of quality health care. Already we are seeing the effects of planned layoffs at corporations who will, by virtue of the mandates of the bill, be required to lay off hundreds of workers, merely to stay in business. This, along with the proposed Value Added Tax (VAT) could not come at a worse time, and will only prolong this, the greatest recession since the 1930s. This bill was ill conceived from the onset, and it is clear that Senators Klobuchar and Franken lacked the integrity to do the right thing and to block the passage to the greatest affront to America's personal and financial liberties since before the American Revolution.

Rest assured, the voters will long remember this transgression, and Senators Klobuchar and Franken will go down in History in the Hall of One-Term Wonders.

Admittedly, It may not be the type of "thank you" letter that Joe Biden, Barack Obama and OFA had in mind, but what the heck. They were the ones that sent the invite.
