Megan Fox Can Pound Sand...

Megan Fox, star of the upcoming blockbuster "Transformers II" movie, had this to say about bargaining with "Megatron," the main villain of the movie:
what she would say to Megatron to keep him from destroying the world. "I'd barter with him," she muses to the July issue Total Film UK, "and say instead of the entire planet, can you just take out all of the white trash, hillbilly, anti-gay, super bible-beating people in Middle America?"
I was planning on seeing this movie. But after reading this, I guess this "hillbilly, white-trash anti-gay super midwest bible-beater" will stay home, and as far as Megan Fox is concerned, she can shove Megatron, sideways, up her pernicious, spiteful, arrogant backside.

~~I'm So Wasted!!~~

Some things never change....
(CNSNews.com) - Academy Award-winning actor Sean Penn said in a Huffington Post blog entry this week that the president of Venezuela, Hugo Chavez, is a “warm” and “friendly man” with a “robust sense of humor,” who daily “risks” his own life for his country in ways former U.S. Vice President Dick Cheney “could never imagine.”

Penn also wrote that conservative talk radio hosts Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity “hate” the principles upon which America was founded.
First of all, tell me, Mr. Penn--in your drug-induced coma, did you ever stop to really think about the "principles" under which this country was founded? In your star-struck hero-worship stupor of your god Hugo Chavez, take a moment, if you would, to ponder which America looks more like the principles of our founding fathers: Rush Limbaugh's and Dick Cheney's America, or Barack Obama's and Hugo Chavez' version of what they'd like America to look like.

And speaking of your boy Hugo Chavez... warm and friendly, my ass.

I'm almost done with Glazov's book; which continues to be pertinent beyond anyone's wildest imagination. I'm looking forward to his promised interview here on The Ice Palace, which should be taking place within the next week.

The Day the Envirowhackos Tipped Their Hand....

"There's still no intelligent life in Hollywood"

I went to see the movie "The Day the Earth Stood Still." A remake of the 1951 classic, it was okay, in its own way. Until it got really teachy-preachy... until, wittingly or unwittingly, the world ended up in an enviro-whacko socialist "utopia" that was a hell of a lot scarier than anything else Hollyweird could possibly dream up.

In the original, the aliens threatened to destroy humanity because we were killing each other.

In this, the cheesy and ever-so-politically-correct remake, the aliens were coming to destroy civilization not because we were destroying each other, but because we were destroying Mother Earth.

Ultimately, the main alien, Klaatu (I wonder if the near-rhyming of Keanu and Klaatu had anything to do with his landing the part), of course, decided not to destroy humanity, but rather destroyed all of humanity's means of producing energy, so that mankind could wreak no more destruction against mother earth and its creatures.

And, as would be the logical conclusion to an environmental-whacko socialist utopia, civilization was in ruins, automobiles, cylinder-driven means of transportation, and other modern-day evil luxuries were rendered useless, and we were back to living in the stone age.

Pretty much the enviro-whacko vision of America, don't you think?

And, no, there was no "Gort, Klaatu barada nicto."

All in all...save your money and go rent the original.

Stop-Loss, stopped dead.

From here:(emphases added)
I'm told #7 Stop-Loss opened to only $1.6 million Friday from just 1,291 plays and should eke out $4+M. Although the drama from MTV Films was the best-reviewed movie opening this weekend, Paramount wasn't expecting much because no Iraq war-themed movie has yet to perform at the box office. "It's not looking good," a studio source told me before the weekend. "No one wants to see Iraq war movies. No matter what we put out there in terms of great cast or trailers, people were completely turned off. It's a function of the marketplace not being ready to address this conflict in a dramatic way because the war itself is something that's unresolved yet. It's a shame because it's a good movie that's just ahead of its time."
As usual, the elites in Hollyweird remain clueless. To reiterate:
"No one wants to see Iraq war movies. No matter what we put out there in terms of great cast or trailers, people were completely turned off.
WTF do you mean "no matter what we put out there," when the only thing that you do put out are bilge-driven baby-killer movies or movies that badmouth the mission.
It's a function of the marketplace not being ready to address this conflict in a dramatic way because the war itself is something that's unresolved yet.
Thank you, Captain Clueless, for that bit of self-absorbed, ill-informed tripe. But it is your constant drumbeat of anti-mission, anti-troop bilge that the marketplace refuses to buy.

If the almighty dollar means anything to you clueless Hollyweird bastards, perhaps you'll be able to reverse your fortunes at the Box office if you take a realistic view of the situation:
  1. There are Islamic bastards with whom our soldiers are engaged who would just as soon bomb a marketplace filled with civilians as look at you.
  2. Our soldiers are there to protect innocents, and to defeat the above-mentioned bastards.
  3. Iraqi forces are taking over an increasing role in protecting their own.
  4. Our soldiers are making a difference, not only in defending the innocent, but in restoring and improving infrastructure around Iraq.
  5. A healthy number of soldiers are re-upping.
Give me a movie that portrays our soldiers as they really are-- brave American heroes, and I'll give you a box-office smash.
