An Open Letter to NBC

I wrote this to NBC news earlier today, but it could be easily applied to any of the fellow-traveler networks:

Dear NBC News:

You no doubt have now heard the news that the Obama administration’s Situation Room had received word of the terrorist nature of the Benghazi attack no later than two hours after it began. They did NOTHING to protect the lives of those in the Embassy compound. President Obama went to sleep, then jetted off to Las Vegas to raise campaign cash, meanwhile, relying on a manufactured cover story of some locals being riled up over a YouTube video that wasn’t seen.

There wasn’t any report in the cables or emails about a protest preceding the attack. The attack lasted over 7 hours before the final two occupants of the compound were murdered. And the Obama administration did NOTHING to help. Instead, they continued their COVER-UP of the video story, for WEEKS afterward.

I listened to the NBC news top of the hour radio broadcast. Not ONE WORD of the above. Just Obama giving his “Romnesia” line, and something about his jetting 5000 or so miles today campaigning.

What– somehow you don’t think that these developments in Benghazi are NEWSWORTHY? That the administration not only knew of the attack, but refused to take action to protect the embassy occupants? And then, COVERED IT UP, LYING about the nature of the attack, and making his underlings spread his propaganda, FOR WEEKS, until the cover story collapsed under the weight of contrary evidence?

Not to mention that there remains an INNOCENT man still sitting in jail!! (Don’t tell me it had nothing to do with Obama’s cover story!!))

WHERE ARE WOODWARD AND BERNSTEIN????

Are you SO enamored, so infatuated with this president, that you, the press, are willing to be derelict to your Constitutional First Amendment duty and to cover up for his abject malfeasance? They did that with State-Controlled media in Soviet Russia. They do that in China. They have no choice. YOU HAVE A CHOICE!!

Are you that devoid of conscience???

Breaking News: Obama to move KSM trial out of NYC

The New York Post reports

The White House ordered the Justice Department to consider other places to try the 9/11 terror suspects after a wave of opposition to holding the trial in lower Manhattan.

The White House took the action hours after Mayor Bloomberg called Attorney General Eric Holder to say he would "prefer that they did it elsewhere."

"It would be an inconvenience at the least, and probably that's too mild a word for people that live in the neighborhood and businesses in the neighborhood," Bloomberg told reporters.

"There are places that would be less expensive for the taxpayers and less disruptive for New York City."

State leaders have railed against a plan to try Khalid Shaikh Mohammed in Manhattan federal court since Holder proposed it last month.

The order to consider new venues does not change the White House's position that Mohammed should be tried in civilian court.

Days That Will Live in Infamy

The following post has been re-released from December 7, 2007...

I thought it still fitting, today:

It was the attack that sounded the clarion call; that the United States could no longer stand idly by while evil elements made their insidious trek across the globe.

It was the decisive moment that provided Americans with the righteous indignation that would be required to sustain them in fueling their eventual victory over the then-axis of evil; Nazi Germany, Fascist Italy, and Imperial Japan. No longer would that generation stand on the sidelines, waiting for someone else to take up that mantle; nor would they pass the burden for future generations to bear.

This was their moment. Their cup of suffering did not pass, but neither did their sacrifices fail to bear the fruits of liberty for future generations; not only of the United States of America, but of the entire global community.

Fast forward to another day that will continue to live in infamy:
This, my dear readers, is our generation's clarion call. The time when history asks us to step up to the plate to fight a global evil.

Will we follow the brave example of what up til now had been our greatest generation? Will we now take up the mantle to fight the forces that threaten liberty, and portend doom upon our way of life, if not our very existence?

Or, will we instead squander the fruits of the sacrifices that followed that fateful day in December of 1941; opting rather to play on political expediency; hoping against hope that the unthinkable will not occur. Or if it does, that it will do so long after our generation passes; leaving our progeny to live their lives in slavish dhimmitude, if at all.

My dear readers, History today calls upon us to answer the call of defending liberty.

The question that is yet to be answered is thus: Will we utilize the clarion call put forth by the events on September 11th, 2001 as a source of righteous indignation to persevere in the cause of freedom? Or will our generation be the one that allowed government by the people, of the people, and for the people to perish from the earth?

I shudder to think about the looming answer to that question.

And, for that matter, today is no exception.

Maybe Bill O'Reilly Will Learn Something From This

They say that if one has too open of a mind, eventually, one's brains will fall out.

Bill O'Reilly says he's fair and balanced one minute, yet also says that he operates the "No Spin Zone" the next.

Bill O'Reilly will often ignore readily available contrary evidence and will himself engage in and/or humor liberal spin in an effort to appear "even handed." For example, O'Reilly will tell you that, despite evidence to the contrary, global warming is real. He will also tell you, despite mountains of evidence to the contrary, that Barack Hussein Obama is no socialist.

But when Bill O'Reilly entertained the state-run media notion that Hassan merely snapped "from the weight of bullying and possible deployment," Col. Ralph Peters would have nothing of it:

Note how toward the end of the interview, O'Reilly was backpedaling like a unicyclist at the Ringling Brothers circus trying to evade an escaped lion.

Good on you, Col. Peters!

What Happens When You Mix Arrogance with Memory Loss?

You get boneheaded publicity stunts like this:

A jumbo jet being chased by a F-16 fighter jets buzzed Lower Manhattan this morning, panicking New Yorkers, many of whom were forced to evacuate their office buildings.

It was not a terrorist attack, however, but a photo opportunity for Air Force One, sources told the Post.

President Obama was in Washington at the time, but the low-flying 747 circling the Statue of Liberty was one of the planes used as Air Force One, sources said.

The NYPD and the city were notified of the planned flight, but did not share that information with Mayor Bloomberg and other New Yorkers, many of whom said they were terrified.

From a psychological perspective, this was a cruel and twisted joke. Many New Yorkers still suffer from post-traumatic stress disorder, a mental disorder whereby sights, sounds and/or smells can re-trigger fight-or-flight responses associated with a past traumatic event.

But remember, ladies and gents, according to the mental giants gnats, i.e., Obama & the rest of the teenagers with credit cards (a/k/a-the democrat-controlled Congress), 9/11 never happened. It's not even a war on terror anymore. It is a memory to be stuffed and snuffed; so I'm sure that quiz-kid Obama never thought twice about allowing this sophomoric stunt to occur.

There is a White House official who fell on the sword, but you can bet that His Arrogance and Pompancy, Barack Hussein Obama, will never apologize personally for re-traumatizing New Yorkers.

In the words of Bugs Bunny...

Now why would someone who's supposedly currently in Uruguay want to obtain blueprints for the sewer system of the city of San Diego?

I contacted the FBI with this information, first by phone. The guy on the other end pretty much hmmm'd and hawwed but finally found a person who is an expert in "cyber crime," gave me his email address, and had me email that person with the information.

I don't know how strong the Gorelick wall continues to be, but my hope is that if I publish this information on this blog, and if it gets picked up, it may prompt some more timely and intensive investigation. My fear is that this information will go nowhere. If this turns out to be a benign coincidence, my apologies in advance; but I could never live with myself if it were otherwise.

OBL: Embrace Islam or Die?

As Jim Lynch puts it,

"There are two solutions to stopping it. One is from our side, and it is to escalate the fighting and killing against you. This is our duty, and our brothers are carrying it out," bin Laden said.

"The second solution is from your side," he said. "I invite you to embrace Islam."

In other words, convert or we will kill you. If either of those alternatives are acceptable then we should leave Iraq, Afghanistan, and let the jihadist have America as well. If those alternatives are not acceptable, we stay and fight.

Actually, I believe we have a third choice, along with our own message to OBL and his pig-screwing Jihadist buddies:

9:20pm Eastern update. Here’s the roll on the Senate John Doe protection amendment, which missed the 60-vote threshold by 3 votes. Interesting facts: No Republican voted against it. GOP presidential candidate Sam “Switchback” Brownback didn’t bother to vote. Hillary voted for it. Obama sat it out:

They actually want people to die, rather than risk offending CAIR or their radical Islamist voting bloc.

Now they're hanging our Canadian friends out to dry:

The government of Afghanistan has committed to investigate the clams and they'll be working closely with the Afghan Independent Human Rights Commission. This is their role and their responsibility," said Andre LeMay, a spokesman for MacKay.

Three of the fresh reports come from prisoners interviewed in the country's notorious intelligence service jail in Kabul - the fourth account was obtained in Kandahar. The precise details of the allegations were not made clear, although earlier this week MacKay described the initial reports as serious.

"All I can tell you is that these claims came to light in private interviews with Canadian officials," said LeMay. "These officials had clear and unrestricted access."

Rome trial challenging CIA extraordinary renditions opens as Bush arrives

MILAN, Italy (AP) - The first trial involving the CIA's extraordinary rendition program opened in Italy on Friday without the presence of any of the 26 American defendants.

The case threatens to expose the workings of the U.S. and Italian intelligence agencies.

Highlighting the strain the trial has placed on U.S.-Italian relations, it began on the same day President Bush arrived in Rome for meetings with the pope, Italy's premier and president.

After ruling on several motions, the judge postponed the trial until June 18 so he could consider a defence request to suspend the proceedings until Italy's Constitutional Court rules on matters related to the case later this year.

Yeah...just look at him. I'm sure he was on his way to visit his sick grandma when he was "kidnapped."

In a "prudent" use of resources

With all the attention lavished on San Fran Nan Al-Pelosi, all the other happenings almost fell off of the radar screen. Almost.

A "bi-partisan bill" that will divert defense funds to "fight global warming," with two all-too-familiar leftist sponsors:

WASHINGTON -- The CIA and Pentagon would for the first time be required to assess the national security implications of climate change under proposed legislation intended to elevate global warming to a national defense issue.

The bipartisan proposal, which its sponsors expect to pass the Congress with wide support, calls for the director of national intelligence to conduct the first-ever "national intelligence estimate" on global warming.

The measure, sponsored by Senator Chuck Hagel , a Nebraska Republican, and Senator Richard J. Durbin , an Illinois Democrat, comes as other international bodies are taking steps to designate global warming as a high international priority.

So, rather than utilize the full resources of our intelligence capabilities to fight the very real threat of global jihadism (hell--to their ilk the GWOT doesn't exist!), Senators Hagel and Durbin see it fit to divert our intelligence resources to chase after an imaginary red herring, in much the same fashion as Ahab chased after a legendary whale. But while Ahab and his crew actually received their come-uppance from the object of their pursuit in Melville's tale; Hagel, Durbin and the rest of the moonbat faithful (and America with it) will receive their come-uppance from another enemy lurking in the shadows.

Actually, lurking under their noses.

Rambo does Afghanistan...

This is a copy of an email that a buddy of mine received:

Hi everyone.

I'm still alive but freezing my tail off.We got 8 inches of snow last week and it reached 5 degrees below zero that night.That's not why I'm e-mailing though.
You may have heard about a suicide car bomb attack in Kabul last Thursday. It was at one of our FOB's (Forward Observation Bases) about 27 miles from here.

But the real story is why no one was killed. We employ several thousand Afghans on our various bases.Not to mention the economy that is fed by the money these locals are making.
Some are laborers and builders, but some are skilled workers.We even have one Afghan that just became OSHA qualified, the first ever. Some are skilled HVAC workers.

Anyway, there is this one Afghan that we call Rambo. We have actually given him a couple of sets of the new ACU uniforms (the new Army digital camouflage) with the name tag RAMBO on it. His entire family was killed by the Taliban and his home was where our base currently resides. So this guy really had nowhere else to go.

He has reached such a level of trust with US Forces that his job is to stand at the front gate and basically be the first security screening. Since he can't have a weapon, he found a big red pipe.So he stands there at the front gate in his US Army ACU uniform with his red pipe.

If a vehicle approaches the gate too fast or fails to stop he slams his pipe down on their hood. Then once the gate is lifted the vehicle moves on the 2nd gate where the US Army MP's are.So he's like the first line of defense. Last Thursday at 0930 hrs a Toyota Corolla packed with explosives and some Jack Ass that thinks he has 72 Virgins waiting for him approached the gate.

When he saw Rambo he must have recognized him and known the gig was up. But he needed to get to that 2nd gate to detonate and take American lives. So he slams his foot on the gas which almost causes the metal gate to go up but mostly catches on the now broken windshield.

Rambo fearlessly ran to the vehicle, reached thru the window and jerked the suicide bomber out of the vehicle before he could detonate and commenced to putting some red pipe to his heathen ass.

He detained the guy until the MP got there. The vehicle only exploded when they tried to push it off base with a robot but know one was hurt. I'm still waiting for someone to give this guy a medal or something. Nothing less than instant US citizenship or something. A hat was passed around and a lot of money was given to him in thanks by both soldiers and civilians that are working over here.

I guess I just wanted to share this because I want people to know that it's working over here. They have tasted freedom.This makes it worth it to me.

Apparently this is a true story, since my buddy forwarded this story to a friend of his currently serving in Afghanistan, and received this response:

...that's amazing. I know Rambo. He was adopted by the front gate security of (camp name removed). The story goes that the taliban murdered his family. Rambo never forgot. When the Coalition forces came Rambo went into action and mercilessly killed every one of his family's murderers. He showed up one day ate the gate of (camp) and adopted the Camp as his own. He always steps in the way, kind of as a human shield, to protect the guys at the gate. Eventuaslly he was vetted and they gave him a set of DCU's. He is quite the character. ...small world.

I don't care if this guy is Afghani-- he needs to be commended for a medal!

A correspondent friend of mine who has been to Afghanistan concurs:

...Rambo is a familiar fellow to anyone who has served in the area which CPT Hunt speaks of. There is much more to this man than is spoke of here. I know him very well. For security reasons I will not say more in an open forum. Know that he is an unrecognized hero of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan and a real live piece of folklore there.
