Regarding Un-Holy Congregations and the Church of Global Warming

In a never ending quest of how best to sell the lie:

Climate Change Rings "Truer" Than Global Warming
American skepticism about whether the world's weather is changing depends partly on wording. More believe in "climate change" than "global warming," a new study by the University of Michigan shows.

Three of four people, or 74%, thought the problem was real when it was referred to as climate change, while 68% thought it was real when it was called global warming, according to questions posed by U-M psychologists on a RAND-conducted survey of 2,267 U.S. adults..

"Wording matters," study co-author Jonathon Schuldt said in announcing the findings, which will be published in the upcoming issue of Public Opinion Quarterly. "While global warming focuses attention on temperature increases, climate change focuses attention on more general changes," he said. "Thus, an unusually cold day may increase doubts about global warming more so than about climate change."
What is really interesting is how this study breaks down by political affiliation:
The study found the differences were due almost entirely to participants who identified themselves as Republicans. While 60% of Republicans said they thought climate change was real, only 44% said they believed in the reality of global warming. In contrast, 86% of Democrats thought climate change was a serious problem, regardless of wording.

"It might be a ceiling effect, given their high level of belief," co-author Sara Konrath, a U-M psychologist, speculated. "Or it could be that Democrats' beliefs about global climate change might be more crystallized, and as a result, more protected from subtle manipulations."
So, democrats are more 'protected' from 'subtle' manipulations. Like those manipulations from IPCC and East Anglia college.. you know, subtle manipulations, like admissions of fudging the data upon which much of the global warming--err climate change studies are based.

Yeah. Those subtle manipulations.

The real difference between democrats and republicans with respect to climate change is not necessarily which percentage of which political bent believes that some sort of climate change is happening. Rather, the real difference between democrats and republicans lies in how each group attributes the cause of that change, and the underlying motives behind those assumptions.

According to the study above, 64 percent of Republicans (supposedly conservative) believe that the climate is changing. I also happen to believe that the climate is changing. The Earth's climate has never been stagnant, and has been changing since the Good Lord created it. The $64,000,000,000 question that the study fails to ask is whether 64% of Republicans believe that anthroprogenic activity is responsible for the climate changing; or, for that matter, whether climate change is really that catastrophic of an event. An educated guess tells me that the percentage on both counts is very, very low.

On the other hand, 86% of democrats (supposedly liberal) believe in climate change. And it is another educated guess that the vast majority of that 86% believe that man is causing it. East Anglia, and all other contradictory data be damned. To the liberal democrat, climate change, specifically the concept of anthroprogenic climate change is not as much scientific fact as it is a matter of godless dogma, held on to with every bit of zealotry as Christians hang on to the notion of the Second Coming of Christ. But the zealotries on each side are played out with very different motivations, which I will explain in the following paragraphs.

As religion is a vehicle through which Man navigates the world so as to attain a one-ness with the Divine with the goal of a glorious afterlife shared with the Divine, global warming/climate change is a vehicle utilized by the god-less Left in a vain attempt to attain a socialist utopia here on Earth. As religion is the great equalizer between rich and poor in the afterlife, global warming is seen as a great equalizer to legitimize the vast redistribution of wealth between rich and poor, both individually and collectively, and to achieve what in reality is unachievable; the socialist utopia of a classless, milquetoast society, egalitarian in both resource and outcome. God-less democrats, disillusioned by the non-prospect of Divine reward, (as there is no true belief in the Divine), attempt themselves to play the Divine, with disastrous consequences.

Even the so-called "religious left" have no real interest in the afterlife, or even in the Divine. Oh, they may call themselves Catholic or Evangelical Lutheran, or Unitarian, but just like the Global Warmers (oftentimes, the two are interchangeable), the 'religious' left utilize religion as a vehicle not to lead people to the Divine so as to achieve their Heavenly reward, but rather to vainly attempt to achieve heaven on earth, forgetting that Christ Himself said, "My Kingdom is not of this world." (John 18:36). To the Left, religion, like Climate Change propaganda, is utilized as but a cloak of legitimacy to advance an un-godly agenda antithetical to which they purport to champion.

So it is without wonder that a majority of democrats will hang on to the hideous lie that is anthroprogenic global warming, no matter the moniker. As I stated before, when the Divine is cast aside, man attempts to fill the void; with invariably disastrous consequences.

And Yet More Proof of Global Warming...

From the "Sunshine State", from, of all places, "Frostproof, Florida":

FROSTPROOF, Fla. - Here's something you don't often see in this town at the heart of the state's $9 billion citrus industry: a sign at the public library that says, "ICE! On sidewalk. Be careful!"

Growers were scrambling Monday to assess damage and pick as many oranges as possible from thousands of acres of citrus groves. Trucks filled with fruit rumbled through the center of town all day as their drivers rushed them to juice plants.

Freezing temperatures that swept in on an Arctic front from Canada have been plaguing the state for a week, with several areas approaching or breaking records on Monday.
Meanwhile, mental giant gnat Danny Glover offers yet more proof of global warming:
Actor Danny Glover says the earthquake in Haiti is a result of global warming. Glover told GRITtv that it could have happened to any of the Caribbean island nations: "They are all in peril because of global warming."

Then, he lamented the failure of the climate summit in Copenhagen. As a result of that failure, he says, "this is what happened."
Moonbattery on parade.

I stubbed my toe this morning. No doubt, a result of the failed talks at Copenhagen, as well.

More Proof of Global Warming...

From a Nowcast Email from Weather Underground:

...Record cold high temperature set at Eau Claire Wisconsin...

The high temperature was 62 degrees at the Eau Claire Chippewa
valley regional Airport for August 29 2009.

This sets a new record cold high temperature for this date.
The previous record cold high temperature for August 29th was 63
degrees set in 1965 and 1903.

More Proof of Global Warming--NOT

From Wunderground:

Record Report

Statement as of 11:15 am CST on June 7, 2009

... New record cold high temperature set at Twin Cities MN...

A new record cold maximum temperature of 52 degrees was reached yesterday... June 6 2009... at the Minneapolis/St Paul international Airport in the Twin Cities. This breaks the previous record of 54 degrees set in 1901 and 1937.
If the global warming shills can use individual weather events as evidence in their feeble attempt to bolster the global warming sham, then I hereby utilize the above case as solid evidence of global cooling.

Next.

The Tide Is Turning...

According to Rasmussen, only 1 of 3 Americans now believe the lie that is anthroprogenic global warming!

Let's hope that team Obama, the enviro-whacko global warming pimps, and their willing media accomplices will finally quit trying to defend the indefensible. Of course, this will mean that they will now need to search for a different angle. After "global warming" failed, they tried "climate change," to hedge their bets that no matter what happens with the weather, capitalism is to blame. But it would appear that their "climate change" gimmick is beginning to fall on deaf ears as well.

But even if they abandon their charge for a weather-related excuse to cram socialism down our throats, they're sure to come up with another hare-brained angle.

You can take that to the bank.

Global Warming: Welcome to the Looking Glass...

One pill makes you larger
And one pill makes you small
And the ones that mother gives you
Don't do anything at all
Go ask Alice
When she's ten feet tall

And if you go chasing rabbits
And you know you're going to fall
Tell 'em a hookah smoking caterpillar
Has given you the call
Recall Alice
When she was just small

When men on the chessboard
Get up and tell you where to go
And you've just had some kind of mushroom
And your mind is moving low
Go ask Alice
I think she'll know

When logic and proportion
Have fallen sloppy dead
And the White Knight is talking backwards
And the Red Queen's "off with her head!"
Remember what the dormouse said;
"FEED YOUR HEAD
_______________
FEED your head"
-Jefferson Airplane-

In order to believe any tenet of liberalism, you must not only first suspend your own observations; verily, you must suspend reality itself, where right is left, up is down, good is evil, evil good, warm is cold, cold is warm...(emphases added):
Meteorologists: Global Warming and Cold Weather Go Hand-In-Hand

14 January 2009

The World Meteorological Organization says cold weather does not mean that global warming has abated. WMO says people should not confuse weather with climate.

Isn't that what the global warming chickenlittles have been ramming down our throats lo this past friggen decade? Hurricane Katrina? Global warming. Thunderstorms--Global warming. Tornadoes--Global warming. A warm summer's breeze... of course, global warming. Algore and his merry filthy-stinkin'-rich band of alarmists have blamed every individual weather event from rain to drought on global warming.

Hell--the alarmists have done such a wonderful job with their propaganda machine that they've given our kids nightmares about global warming.

And now that it's colder than a witches tit in a brass bra, they're saying that weather events don't matter any more? They've blamed episodic melting of polar ice on global warming, and then in the same breath say that the resurgence of arctic ice to 1979 levels is immaterial. Either individual weather events are symptomatic of global warming or they're not. You can't cherrypick.

Yet they trudge on with their packs of lies emblazoned on their placards, continuing to proclaim them as truth, clinging to their dogma more fiercely than any Appalachian ever clinged to guns and religion.

However, the agenda behind the agenda with regard to the intensifyingly hysterical global warming wailing and gnashing of teeth is quite clear: Follow the money. Oh, and did I say, Follow the money. And while you're at it, follow the ideology.

It ain't going away any time soon, kids.

So, kiddos, fasten your seatbelts, open your wallets wide, and enjoy your little sojourn through the looking glass lo these next four years.

Lewis Carroll himself could think of nothing more bizarre.

Yet more proof of global warming...

Here, here, here, here, and here.

Knock it off with the bullshit, okay?

No. No. No. No. No. No!

Oh, and did I mention, NO!!!
WASHINGTON, Aug. 26 (UPI) -- The Republican platform may include a first-ever plank on global warming, an examination of a draft document indicated.

"Increased atmospheric carbon has a warming effect on the Earth," The Hill reported the draft document as saying. "While the scope and long term consequences of this warming effect are the subject of ongoing research, we believe the United States should take measured and reasonable steps today."

Sen. John McCain, poised to become the party's presidential nominee next week during the Republican National Convention in St. Paul, Minn., is a proponent of tackling global warming.

The final version of the 2008 Republican Platform will be ratified during the convention.

Err... McCain-- you may want to drink the kool-aid and think that it helps you politically, but SHIT-- is it the right thing to do? Cap and trade and all the other bullshit that is being sold with the global warming bill of goods will do nothing but harm!

FOR HEAVEN FRIGGEN SAKES--we are poised to have a COLDER THAN NORMAL winter-- it got up to 90 degrees on less than a handful of days this summer, but yeah, right-- even that's due to global warming.

Delegates--do NOT-- I repeat DO NOT buy into this bullshit!

***UPDATE***

Norm Coleman bought the bullshit.

When the going gets tough, Norm invariably makes a left turn.

I think he can't help it. After all, he was a democrat...

I guess it must be difficult to change one's spots.

Score one for Mother Earth...

Perhaps we need more hurricanes. Start pumping out that C0-2.
Many Texans heading north were stopped at inland Border Patrol checkpoints, where agents opened extra lanes to ease traffic flow while still checking documentation and arresting illegal immigrants, said sector spokesman Dan Doty. At one checkpoint on U.S. 77, smugglers were caught with nearly 10,000 pounds of marijuana.
As a friend of mine said, "illegal immigrants arrested, dope smugglers arrested. All was needed was some high water to flush the rats out."

Amen, rev.

Pot Meet Kettle, Part....

The London Telegraph reports that Britain's Channel 4 is to be censured for telling the truth.

The makers of a Channel 4 documentary which claimed that global warming is a swindle misrepresented the views of some of the world's leading climate scientists, the media watchdog is expected to rule next week.

In a judgment at the end of a 15-month enquiry, Ofcom is expected to censure the channel over The Great Global Warming Swindle, broadcast in March last year.

[SNIP]

The controversy over the film, made by director Martin Durkin, has continued to rage in newspapers and online.

Critics argued that it had misused and fabricated data, relied on out-of-date research and employed misleading arguments.

Hmm.. sounds like they were looking in a mirror when they made those statements.

Oh give me a friggin' break already...

Got kidney stones? Blame "global warming."
Global warming is likely to increase the proportion of the population affected by kidney stones by expanding the higher-risk region known as the "kidney-stone belt" into neighboring states, researchers at UT Southwestern Medical Center and UT Dallas have found.
Got wildfire, pestilence and other biblical maladies? Blame global warming and humans:

WASHINGTON (AP) — Government scientists detailed a rising death toll from heat waves, wildfires, disease and smog caused by global warming in an analysis the White House buried so it could avoid regulating greenhouse gases.

In a 149-page document released Monday, the experts laid out for the first time the scientific case for the grave risks that global warming poses to people, and to the food, energy and water on which society depends.

"Risk (to human health, society and the environment) increases with increases in both the rate and magnitude of climate change," scientists at the Environmental Protection Agency said. Global warming, they wrote, is "unequivocal" and humans are to blame.

The document suggests that extreme weather events and diseases carried by ticks and other organisms could kill more people as temperatures rise.

When are these schitt-for-brains bozos gonna get it in their rotten, self-centered, arrogant, egotistical sorry excuses for their brains-that-only-a-proctologist-can-appreciate that we don't buy their spewed vomit anymore?

You'd think they'd have a clue by now.

Hey, McFly--anybody home?!?

Stop the Insanity!

Tell your elected representative (especially Senator Norm Coleman) that the time to put an end to propagating the MMGW scam is now.

Click here to sign the petition.

The following is the personal message that I wrote:
Please vote against the Warner-Lieberman “Climate Security” (sic) Act.

Policy based on failed and unproven science is unconscionable, especially in an age when Americans are being taxed more and more on their freedom of mobility.

Know this: To base policy on events in which man has no power nor bearing is a death-wish to our economic future, not to mention our national security. Our best, most prosperous days must be in front of us, not behind us.

Please stop this insanity, and vote against the Warner-Lieberman Cap and Trade bill.

Sincerely,

Leo Pusateri

Oh, that. That was the sound of the wind being taken out of the enviro-whacko's sails as the "consensus" that was "man-made" global warming crumbles into little bitty pieces..

And whose fault is this?

In another, "It's for the chiiiiildreeeen" moment, MN Senator Ellen Anderson engages in histrionics on the Minnesota Senate floor:

While I would agree with Senator Julianne Ortman's assessment, I would like to go further.

Working in the schools this past Earth Day, I am not at all surprised at Senator Ellen Anderson's assertions that "children are scared."

In our day, our teachers would scare us while telling scary stories of goblins and witches on Halloween. These days, kids are frightened with equally frightening (and equally fanciful) stories of polar bears swimming and the earth conflagrating in a huge fireball, all because mom and dad drive an SUV and don't throw the pop cans where they're supposed to. The difference, back then was that the teachers didn't give the impression that the witches and the goblins were real.

Posters made by kids that are hung on the walls in school hallways are testimony to the fact that kids are being scared to death by the histrionics of the global warming crowd, being fed to them by unwitting teachers.

Yes, Senator Anderson. Kids are scared.

No thanks to you and yours.

The Global Warming Racket to Minnesota Citizens: Bend Over!

How do you get a Number 41 business ranking out of 50 states even lower?

Just ask the House democrats. The Minnesota House last night passed a Cap-and-Trade agreement that would force selected companies that produce "so-called" "greenhouse gases" to purchase credits from companies that don't.

Republicans (rightly) opined that,
jobs could be lost and that consumers and businesses could be hurt. Some questioned the human contribution to global warming and whether global warming should be considered a crisis. Rep. Pat Garofalo, R-Farmington, read 30-year-old headlines that warned about global cooling.
Aah, but the oh-so-wise and informed Kate Knuth, the author of the bill, stated,
"Cap-and-trade will change the jobs that we have in Minnesota -- I think it will change the jobs for the better," "It will bring clean-energy jobs."
Well, Kate, thanks so much for those witty words of comfort as you sell ours and our children's economic futures down the river to shoo away a bogeyman THAT DOESN'T EXIST.

Follow the money, folks. Follow the money.

An Earth Day Greeting...from your RNC...

I had to look twice in order to confirm authorship of this piece. I could've sworn it was written by Algore himself:

A cause greater than self-interest'
By Maria Cino
Posted: 04/21/08 04:09 PM [ET]

With Minnesota’s spring thaw and Earth Day upon us, Republican National Convention planners are making great progress in preparing for the convention. For months now, the GOP’s Committee on Arrangements (COA) has been hard at work to ensure that our party’s 39th presidential nominating convention is the “greenest” ever. Come Sept. 1, an anticipated 45,000 convention guests and volunteers — joined by millions watching from around the world — will gather in Minneapolis-St. Paul for a historic event: the nomination of Sen. John McCain (Ariz.)

From transportation choices to venue selection to staff workspace, the GOP, the MSP2008 Host Committee and the host cities of Minneapolis and St. Paul are working together to implement the best environmental practices in all aspects of planning. We are reviewing all aspects of convention preparations to reduce waste and encourage reuse and recycling. We currently use paperless, online systems for internal communications, as well as our delegate travel reservation system, thanks to our partnership with Travel Technology Group, the convention’s Official Housing Bureau.

Coupled with our convention team’s commitment to cutting-edge technology, the decision to go green is also being embraced by the convention’s local Host Committee. MSP2008 and its partners have developed an online system to recruit and register more than 8,000 official volunteers. Accessible through the convention website — www.GOPconvention2008.com— the online registration is easy and eco-friendly.

In addition, the convention website itself is an enormous online resource for delegates, members of the news media, and all interested parties looking for the latest convention news. Visitors with questions can get in touch with a member of our team via an interactive online feature, CONVENTION iNSIDER. We’ve answered more than 500 CONVENTION iNSIDER questions to date!

PR Newswire, our official wire service provider, will provide simultaneous, electronic distribution of news releases, media advisories and convention materials to the estimated 15,000 members of the news media expected onsite at the Xcel Energy Center and to news outlets around the world.

COA and Host Committee staff members are working with convention venues, including the Xcel Energy Center and St. Paul RiverCentre, on ways to improve energy efficiency. Everything from power sources to lighting fixtures to recycling programs are being reviewed, and we are making recommendations on how to implement environmentally friendly solutions.

In terms of getting from point A to point B in the host cities, convention guests will ride in a fleet of eco-friendly vehicles. As the official vehicle provider, General Motors will provide the 2008 Republican National Convention with more than 300 cars and light trucks representing a mix of highly fuel-efficient vehicles that include E85 ethanol flex-fuel and hybrid technology.

COA offices have been outfitted with recycled furnishings and recycled office supplies are used whenever possible. Our office climate control automatically shuts off at 5 p.m. each day, so energy is not wasted during off-hours (even though our “off” hours are quickly dwindling). Staff offices use power strips for electronic equipment, which can be turned off to prevent drawing power during periods when the equipment is not in use. Additionally, most convention staffers live within walking distance of headquarters and carpool to do their shopping or take in the local entertainment.

Minnesotans’ deep appreciation for their state’s natural wonders hasn’t gone unnoticed — and the Republican Party joins them in embracing these precious resources. To mark Earth Day, convention staff participated in a park cleanup as part of the COA’s ongoing American Neighbor volunteer program, a service initiative aimed at giving back to the host cities. It was a positive experience and what Sen. McCain might call “serving a cause greater than self-interest.”

The 2008 Republican National Convention will use fewer resources and leave a smaller footprint; showcase Minneapolis and St. Paul as the leaders they are in environmental preservation and sustainable development; and, underscore the Republican Party’s commitment to responsible stewardship of our environment.

Now there are those who say that the RNC's relatively recent two-fisted embracing of the jug of global warming kool-aid is small potatoes; that there are bigger fish to fry.

With that, I have to respectfully, though strongly disagree.

On the contrary, I would say that the current noose around our economy resultant of runaway energy prices can be directly linked to the environmental movement. "Environmentally friendly" is one thing. Basing policy on failed science at the expense of the economy is quite a different matter-- For example, did you see the part of the piece where Cino extols the virtues of utilizing E-85 vehicles for the convention? Again, promoting a failed science and a failed technology that only serves to drive the price of food higher. All for the purposes of pleasing the Sierra Club.

Meanwhile, the cost of gas to fuel our vehicles is above $3.50 per gallon; with the cost of diesel to ship our goods well over $4.00 per gallon, with no end it sight to energy's meteoric rise and its deleterious effect on our economy.

Yet, we have not been able to harvest our own oil and natural gas resources for decades now. Why? Because our elected officials (now including Republicans) have been buying into the enviro-nutter movement.

We have not been able to build a new refinery in this country since the 1970s. Why? Same reason.

Staple food crops have been abandoned in favor of cashing in on the taxpayer-financed ethanol bonanza. And now we have FOOD RATIONING IN CALIFORNIA. FOOD RATIONING. IN THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA!

By "drinking the kool-aid" the RNC is not only necessarily doing what amounts to humoring a child's incorrect though oh-so-cute fantasy; but more insidiously giving credence to a false premise that has the potential to do great damage when carried to its (il)logical conclusion. What we have already seen is only the beginning.

When you look at the agenda, it is clear that MMWG and other enviro-hysterics are being used as bogeymen by the left as a means to rationalize an exponential increase in the size and scope of government and resultant control over our lives; and in the process moving us ever closer to their vision of a socialist utopia; the "New Europe," rather than the beacon of prosperity and freedom that we have been up to this point.

THE EMPEROR HAS NO CLOTHES!!

It's high time that someone stood on the soapbox and put an end to the absolute madness. A madness that is causing totally un-necessary economic pain to our citizens who are trying their damndest to make ends meet in the first place.

Yes, I know that there are those who think that drinking the enviro-kool aid to get a few lefty votes is no big deal.

On this we will have to agree to disagree.

I, for one, refuse to budge.

Et tu, George?

George Bush has drunk the Gore-Aid....

WASHINGTON (AP) -- President Bush, stepping into the debate over global warming, plans to announce on Wednesday a national goal for stopping the growth of greenhouse gas emissions over the next few decades.

In a speech in the Rose Garden, Bush will lay out a strategy rather than a specific proposal for curbing emissions, White House press secretary Dana Perino said Tuesday. She did not disclose details of his announcement and would not say whether the president would propose any kind of mandatory cap on greenhouse gas emissions.

The president wants every major economy, including fast-growing nations like China and India, to establish a national goal for cutting the emissions believed responsible for global warming.

Granted that Bush's plan doesn't seem as extreme as Algore's or other enviro-nutters, but what bothers me most in the first place is the perceived need among so-called conservative politicians to even humor the demonstrably false notion that human activities actually have an impact on something as global as climate; all for the purpose of being able to beat your chest at election time and say that you care.

Yet more onerous is the fact that the man-made global warming (MMWG) fairy tale, when translated into public and fiscal policy, it is nothing less than devastating to our economic and strategic well-being. A fairy tale, that when followed to its logical conclusion, inflicts very real yet very-unnecessary suffering and hardship on all of us.

When we are prevented from harvesting our own proven domestic sources of energy for fear of offending the nature-nutters, to the point where not only does the cost of energy skyrocket exponentially, to the point where we are not only beholden to third world thugs to meet our energy needs, but also to the point where the cost of the very food on which we survive becomes less and less affordable, I have a bit more than a problem with that.

And to add insult to injury, we have supposedly conservative folks like our front-runner for president, our governor, and even our mayor wantonly perpetuating the MMWG myth for nothing else than for purposes of political correctness. I spoke with Governor Pawlenty about a month ago regarding his stances on the Midwestern Regional Greenhouse Gas Reduction Accord, and he in effect had the attitude that it "wasn't hurting anybody" and that he would only go along with the initiatives if they don't have a deleterious effect on the economy.

Memo to Pawlenty: It has.

There are those, even in the conservative blogosphere, who say that there is a need for conservative candidates to pay homage to the MMGW gods in order to be elected.

To that, I politely say, "POPPYCOCK!"

The heretofore widespread public belief in the MMGW scam has hit its watermark; and the impending backlash is very apparent to anyone who lives and does business outside the beltway and outside the Capitol grounds in St. Paul. Anyone with an IQ above room temperature and a bleeding wallet to match has seen, is starting to see, or soon will see the ruse; and the first politician to have the presence of mind and the cajones to call this hoax for what it is will rightly go miles in the current and future political landscape.

And just for telling the truth.

Feature that.

Al Gore's Energy Hypocrisy

Not much to add here, except for the fact that I can't believe that MMGW is even still bantied about as gospel in some circles, or as a means of gaining accolades in others.

Pawlenty and McCain need to step away from this nonsense, NOW.
