Thou Shalt Not Have Strange gods...

Eleven million taxpayer-funded dollars. Supposedly to help 400 people in Detroit find jobs. Even if every one of those 4o0 people found a job, that would be $27,500 in taxpayer money spent, per job. Ludicrous enough, no?

Well, what if only TWO (2) of those 400 people found jobs?

A chunk of an $11 million stimulus grant meant to provide low-income Detroit residents with clothing for job interviews reportedly aided just two people — far short of the 400 job-seekers the money was meant to help.

The findings were part of a new audit on the city’s Department of Human Services, according to The Detroit News.

That, my friends, comes to a cost of $5.5 MILLION dollars. Per job. Nice return on investment there, Barry.
Fast forward to yesterday (emphases added):

In the wake of lobbying by President Obama and Senate Democratic leaders, the Senate Thursday defeated legislation to speed up construction of a U-S.-Canadian oil pipeline. The White House victory came after the president started personally calling Democratic senators Wednesday night. The vote underscored the extent to which rising gas prices and energy supply have become a central political issue.

So, to Barack Obama, a stimulus program that costs taxpayers hundreds of millions, and which is a failure by any clear-thinking person’s standards is hailed as a success; while killing a program that creates at least 25,000 jobs, all without a dime of taxpayer money, is somehow considered a ‘victory.’

To Barack Hussein Obama, nothing can be successful; nothing can be true and real unless it is a direct machination of government. No matter how big the failure a government program is, it is still a success, because to a statist like Obama, nothing is possible, nothing is real unless it has its underpinnings in government.

To Obama, Government is reality. The government is the source of all that is good and just in the world. The private sector is what is contrived. To Obama, the private sector is an anomaly; an abomination that must be controlled so as not to infringe upon the government’s influence in people’s lives. The god of Government is a jealous god. Thou shalt not have strange Gods before it. Even religion itself takes a back seat to Obama’s real religion.

After all, in order to appease the god of Government and to gain its good graces, one must certainly give alms:

More than half of Obama’s 47 biggest fundraisers, those who collected at least $500,000 for his campaign, have been given administration jobs. Nine more have been appointed to presidential boards and committees.

At least 24 Obama bundlers were given posts as foreign ambassadors, including in Finland, Australia, Portugal and Luxembourg. Among them is Don Beyer, a former Virginia lieutenant governor who serves as ambassador to Switzerland and Liechtenstein.

….

Obama has appointed 59 ambassadors who were not career Foreign Service officers, and of those, 40 percent were bundlers.

Welcome to the church of Obama.

God help its heretics.

Regarding High Crimes and Misdemeanors...

If this doesn't fit the bill, nothing does..

US Attorney General Eric Holder testifies before the House Judiciary Committee in Washington, DC, December 8, 2011. Holder faced a congressional hearing over a scandal which allowed US weapons to find their way into the hands of Mexican drug cartels. Wisconsin Republican Rep. Jim Sensenbrenner, a former chairman of the House Judiciary Committee where Attorney General Eric Holder testified on Thursday, suggested that impeachment of administration officials involved with Operation Fast and Furious may be the only way to bring the scandal to a close.

In a heated exchange between Sensenbrenner and Holder during Thursday’s Judiciary Committee hearing, Sensenbrenner said impeachment is one option on the table if Holder and the Justice Department continue to withhold information from congressional investigators.

Sensenbrenner didn’t specify which administration officials he thinks could face impeachment proceedings, or if Holder is among them. But he did say the drastic measure would be a last resort.

“There is really no responsibility within the Justice Department,” Sensenbrenner said. “The thing is, if we don’t get to the bottom of this — and that requires your assistance on that — there is only alternative that Congress has and it is called impeachment,

Folks-- This IS an IMPEACHABLE offense-- and that's not hyperbole. The Obama justice department, via Fast & Furious, has become complicit with and a party to out-and-out MURDER, with hundreds of innocent people, including one brave U.S. border control agent, dead as a result of this program--all designed to make it easier for the Obama administration to impinge on 2nd amendment rights. This is nothing less than unconscionable; a criminal act worthy of the rank of "High Crimes and Misdemeanors." Holder must resign. Obama must resign or be impeached.

GAFFES MEAN THINGS* (*unless you're a democrat.)

Michele Bachmann today was reported as praising American achievements, such as the Intercontinental Railroad.

Of course, last time anyone checked in American history, there has never been, nor is there ever likely to be, an inter-continental railroad.

Unless they decide to build a trestle between New York City and London, England.

Of course, the media is likely to have a veritable field day with this latest Bachmann gaffe, and use it once again to showcase how utterly uncouth and ill-informed she is.

No wait. My bad. It wasn't Bachmann who said that.

It was Barack Hussein Obama (hmm-hmm-hmm-pbuh).

Never mind.

Move along.

Nothing to see here.

Blame it on Democracy...

It's a damned good thing that this avowed socialist has a democratic republic to deal with, otherwise we may all be in gulags. He's blaming "democracy" for his failures:

And the START treaty is a surprise in what way?

There are some who may be a bit taken aback at the unilateral nature of the START treaty.

But for those of us who were actually paying attention, it's no surprise at all:

Obama and Kumar Trash White Castle...

More hopenchange, baby--

It seems that Obama's nifty, 'thrifty' julienne fries making health care bill is already in the process of making already astronomical unemployment figures even more so:

Meanwhile, the Ivory Tower of the Obama administration declares war on a much more prosaic target. House Republican Leader John Boehner notes “ObamaCare’s War on White Castle Jobs:”

American jobs are under attack by the massive health care overhaul that was rammed through Congress by President Obama over the objections of the American people. The latest evidence of the new law’s job-crushing nature comes from White Castle, the Columbus, Ohio-based restaurant chain that employs thousands of Americans nationwide.

An analysis conducted by White Castle officials and submitted to my office this week indicates that one provision of ObamaCare alone will effectively cut White Castle’s net income in half and chop future job creation by at least that much. The analysis also illustrates how the law’s job-crushing impact will be most severe in lower-income areas, where jobs such as those provided by employers like White Castle are needed most. The White Castle analysis comes days after the U.S. Department of Labor announced that the national unemployment rate last month rose to 9.9%, meaning at least one out of every 10 Americans is now out of work.

* * *

At least one in every 10 Americans is out of work. Any politician who believes such a statistic is cause for celebration isn’t listening to the American people. President Obama’s job-killing health care law should be repealed and replaced with common-sense reforms that will lower health care costs for American workers and encourage private sector job creation, not discourage it.

The liberal road to hell has now reached Cloward & Piven Drive, and our total road to ruin is at hand.

The neo-socialist toilet is in full flush mode--I just hope that right-minded folks can muster enough strength to hang on to the rim.

How Barack Obama lowered my health care costs; and other fairy tales...

I have participated in my company's flex plan for quite some time now. It was a way for families to reduce the cost of their health care by making the money you spend on non-prescription, non-direct care medically-related items into pre-tax deductions, and reimbursed as you go along.

Well...wouldn't you know that His Royal Arrogance, Barack Hussein Obama (D-Mm-Mm-Mm), in all his beneficence and amidst all his promises to make health care more affordable, just made my healthcare more expensive (please click on the pic below for full size):

Not only that, but my wife happens to work for a subsidiary of Baxter medical. A number of years ago, employees were awarded 100 shares each of Baxter stock- a great company with stature and a promising future in the medical field.

Well, wouldn't you know, that with a stroke of a pen, is Royal Arrogance, Barack Hussein Obama (D-Mm-Mm-Mm-pbuh), took over $1300 out of our pockets with his signing of that miraculous "health care reform" bill:
Shares of Baxter International Inc. dropped 13 percent Thursday after the company lowered its 2010 financial outlook, citing the loss of market share for key plasma-derived therapies and the impact of the government's massive health care overhaul..
Yeah, quiz kid. You certainly did "do it."

A "Thank You" Note...

Wow--I received this neat email letter today from none other than Joltin' Joe Biden!
Leo --

Two weeks after it was signed into law, health insurance reform is still the talk of the town.

It's for a good reason: This was a historic accomplishment. But it wasn't easy. I remember what it's like to be a senator and take a tough stand on an issue -- confident that it's the best thing for your constituents, but equally sure that special interests will pour buckets of money into attacking you for it.

Your senators, Amy Klobuchar and Al Franken, took that tough stand when they supported health reform. Now, we need to provide a line of defense money can't buy: the voices of real constituents speaking out and showing their support.

That's where you come in. Do you have three minutes to jot down a quick letter to your local newspaper? If you need ideas on what to say, you can watch a quick video Organizing for America put together about how reform will benefit Minnesota.

Believe me, senators and their staff read the letters page -- because they know just how influential it can be. Your letter could make a tremendous difference.

In my conversations with my old colleagues, I made it clear that this White House was prepared to back them up -- that no barrage of partisan attack ads would go unanswered. But to follow through, I'm going to need some help from folks like you.

This legislation will put Americans in control of their own health care, rein in insurance-company abuses, and give millions of Americans access to affordable health care for the first time.

Special interests know that in the coming months, all their lies about reform will be proven false. But that won't stop them from inventing new ones and spreading attack ads.

It's just the first step, but one letter from a constituent is worth a hundred paid advertisements. So please make sure your friends and neighbors understand the benefits this law will bring to ordinary Americans -- take three minutes and write a paragraph or two now:

http://my.barackobama.com/SenateThank

Thanks,

Vice President Joe Biden
Well, shucks--that was mighty nice of ol' Joe--I mean--to offer the resources of Organizing for America to write a letter of 'thanks' to Amy Klobuchar and Al Franken for their thoughtful consideration in voting for Obamacare! It was so nice, that I thought I would take him up on his offer. So, I wrote the following LTE to the St. Cloud Times, the Star Tribune, and the Duluth Tribune, all on OFA's dime:
I am writing this letter to voice my disgust over Senators Al Franken and Amy Klobuchar's blind passage of the behemoth health care bill that is neither about bringing down the cost of health care nor of expanding the coverage of quality health care. Already we are seeing the effects of planned layoffs at corporations who will, by virtue of the mandates of the bill, be required to lay off hundreds of workers, merely to stay in business. This, along with the proposed Value Added Tax (VAT) could not come at a worse time, and will only prolong this, the greatest recession since the 1930s. This bill was ill conceived from the onset, and it is clear that Senators Klobuchar and Franken lacked the integrity to do the right thing and to block the passage to the greatest affront to America's personal and financial liberties since before the American Revolution.

Rest assured, the voters will long remember this transgression, and Senators Klobuchar and Franken will go down in History in the Hall of One-Term Wonders.
Admittedly, It may not be the type of "thank you" letter that Joe Biden, Barack Obama and OFA had in mind, but what the heck. They were the ones that sent the invite.
Click on the link above, and have some fun, yourselves!

Obama the Feckless...His Supreme Incompetence...

I don't know... titles can only go so far when deeds speak volumes more... In some twisted display of Stockholm syndrome on steroids, Barack Insane Obama goes and tries to placate our sworn enemies...

For all that our boys have fought and died for, we’re now giving legitimacy to the same enemy we went there to defeat? Imagine how our troops overseas must be feeling about the news that their Commander in Chief wants to legitimize the very enemy they’re trying to defeat. Sad…

NY Times - The United States recognizes that the Taliban are now part of the political fabric of Afghanistan, Defense Secretary Robert M. Gates said here on Friday, but the group must be prepared to play a legitimate role before it can reconcile with the Afghan government.

That means, Mr. Gates said, that the Taliban must participate in elections, not oppose education and not assassinate local officials. (yea good luck with that! -Ed)

“The question is whether the Taliban at some point in this process are ready to help build a 21st-century Afghanistan or whether they still just want to kill people,” Mr. Gates said. (That question is, frankly, above Obama’s pay grade-Ed)
While at the same time, he is hellbent on villifying and personally destroying his fellow citizens.

We have gone from, "We will not negotiate with terrorists," to, "If you can't beat 'em, join 'em."

Sympathy for the Devil...

Actually, the election last night of Scott Brown, along with the concommitant derailing of Obamacare, may have had the net effect of saving the democrats from themselves; and pulling our nation back from the brink of politburo-style tyranny in the process.

One year ago, on my 49th birthday, I bemoaned the wholesale adoption of statist government as Barack Hussein Obama took his oath of office.

Today, on my 50th birthday, I'm feeling a bit more optimistic.

There are times when I feel God gave us Barack Obama to wake us up.

The evil intentions of men are no match for Divine Providence.

May GOD continue to awaken us, and to protect us.

Is the Crap & Trade Party Over?

Noel Sheppard has just reported that the thugs who are to soon meet in Copenhagen finally got some pangs of self-interest as they have now thought twice about signing any binding climate change legislation at the upcoming conference:

The decision represents a huge setback to the Obama administration's goal of passing a cap and trade bill this year, which conversely is great news for virtually every company in America that has been worried about the higher cost of doing business that would come from the enactment of such legislation.

As the New York Times reported moments ago:
President Obama and other world leaders have decided to put off the difficult task of reaching a climate change agreement at a global climate conference scheduled for next month, agreeing instead to make it the mission of the Copenhagen conference to reach a less specific "politically binding" agreement that would punt the most difficult issues into the future. [...]
Obama, of course, was going to use agreements made in Copenhagen as a justification for passing the onerous "cap and trade" legislation, that, in his own words, would necessarily "..make the price of energy skyrocket."

This, of course, is yet another political setback for the Obamateur, who will no likely have to kiss a little more ass and bow a few more times to get other world leaders to do his bidding.
