Dystopia--In His Own Words

Just prior to the 2008 elections, Barack Obama boldly stated,
“We are 5 days away from fundamentally transformingthe United States of America” (October 30, 2008)
Many among my conservative friends took that to be so much fluff; pretty much liberal boilerplate consistent with his whole “Hope and Change” campaign message.  Given, however, Obama’s background, cutting his teeth with the radical leftists/communists of his day (i.e., Frank Marshall Davis, Bernadine Dorn, Bill Ayers, Jeremiah Wright) I believe I was one of the relative few that took him at his word.  Unlike most of America, conservatives such as myself and others who actually took the time to vet Obama, knew that background and worldview mattered, and that Obama’s past gave more than a glimpse of how he intended to govern in the present.
When Obama uttered those words, “.. fundamentally transform America” I knew he meant it. It was Obama himself who stated (emphases added),
“As radical as I think people try to characterize the Warren Court, it wasn’t that radical.  It didn’t break free from the essential constraints that were placed by the founding fathers in the Constitution, at least, as it’s been interpreted and Warren Court interpreted in the same way, that generally the Constitution is a charter ofnegative libertiesSays what the States can’t do to you; says what the Federal Government can’t do to you, but doesn’t state what the Federal government or State Government must do on your behalf.”  (Barack Obama, June 18, 2001).
There is no question that Barack Obama was unhappy with his perception of unequal distribution of wealth that America so unfairly championed, and that he wanted to transform this nation into something more ‘equitable’ in his eyes.  The question was how, and to what extent.  Just how does one “fundamentally” transform a nation whose very basis for existence is freedom, itself?  The only feasible answer is to transform that already-free nation, into a nation with fewer freedoms.  Given Dinesh D’Souza’s brilliant insights as to Obama’s worldview engendered by his past, one knew that Obama’s absolute contempt for what he saw as America’s unequal distribution of wealth would result in his promoting policies that would necessarily stifle economic growth.   Obama’s America would no longer be one of unbridled economic opportunity; rather, America would be a nation of egalitarian outcomes, regardless of effort; to coin a phrase, to each, according to his needs; from each, according to his means.
As a means of bringing about this transformation, America could no longer be a free nation.  No where as free, at least, as it was at the time of he assumed his presidency.  Liberties would need to be forsaken to bring about his vision of utopia.  The free market system would need to be reined in, and done so in no small measure.   Obama would have four years, eight at most, to make this happen.  This transformation would need to be done quickly, and in a big way.
Enter Obamacare, America’s first stop on its train ride to Utopia. Against the wishes of 60-70 percent of Americans, and without the vetting of congressional legislators who rammed through the legislation, the United States Federal Government took control of a full one-seventh of the American economy, which had the net effect of driving up the cost of health care for all involved,  taking away freedom of choice, relegating freedom of conscience incompatible with the party line to irrelevancy, while at the same time having the no-doubt intended effect of casting of chilling pall on America’s ability to sustain economic growth and prosperity.  For those who wish to argue regarding this latter point, how better to right the wrongs of the perceived injustice of unequally-distributed wealth than to stifle the engine that creates such wealth?
As I’ve said, Obamacare is but stop one on America’s train ride to Obama’s Dystopia.  Obama’s seeming assault on everything traditional America has held dear for centuries appears to have taken on epidemic proportions.  Remember- Obama only has three- and three-quarter years left.  Those who haven’t yet felt the pinch of his “transformations,” most likely have not yet realized that they, too, have been pinched.   Obama’s willing media accomplices can only cover for him for so long before a critical mass of Americans, admittedly as dull as many of them are, will start to put two-and-two together and finally determine that the hopey-changey unicorn jockey they voted for may actually have had something to do with the plight in which they suddenly find themselves.
Then what?
When the critical mass of Americans finally wake up one morning, to find that they have been played as chumps, they are liable to get a bit–shall we say, testy. When this inevitability finally does come home to roost, The TEA party protests that grew out of Rick Santelli’s historical February, 2009 rant will no doubt look like a series of school pep assemblies.   Such civil unrest would certainly be difficult to quell, and will no doubt be yet another bump in the tracks on the way to Obama’s Dystopian dream.
What to do, what do do? You can’t just sick the military after the troublemakers. Well, you could, I suppose, but then you risk pissing off your fellow travelers who have had a history of contempt for men and women in uniform.
What to do??
Since, at least philosophy and policy wise, one can take Obama at his word, one may get a clue as to Obama’s plans by again, studying his own non-TelePrompter inspired rhetoric:
“We cannot continue to rely on our military in order to achieve the national security objectives that we’ve set.  We’ve got to have a civilian national security force that’s just as powerful, just as strong, just as well funded.”   -Barack Obama, July, 2008.
Yeah- remember that phrase?  Neither did a lot of other people.  Like the rest of Obama’s sordid past and rhetoric that if brought to the light of day would have rendered his election impossible, The media (true to their sycophantic nature) pretty much glossed over that little tidbit.  A powerful Civilian security force.Remind you of anyone?
So when you see articles like this, or like this, or like this, and then think, aww–Leo–take that tinfoil hat off!  You’re just blowing smoke.  That would neverreally happen here.  There’s no way.
Just remember.  I didn’t put those words into Barack Obama’s mouth.
He did.

Spaceballs can teach us a lot about the current state of the RNC.

Well…What DO we got?
To answer in short– a hell of a lot.
The problem is that there are a bunch of spineless wimps running the RNC. They don’t understand that the DNC is willing to do ANYTHING, lie, cheat, steal to get their people elected. All we have to do is hit them with the TRUTH– but when you’re a democrat, the TRUTH is ugly and hurts like a sonofabitch– in fact, any truth telling is considered an all-out assault against them–like a cross against a vampire. The RNC, though, always wants to play “nice.” They don’t want to go into the gutter– but at the same time, they don’t realize that they don’t have to go in the gutter– they just need to tell the TRUTH. Until they realize that, we’re in for a long, upward battle. Like During WWII, which was ended with the dropping of two atomic bombs, the simple telling of the TRUTH are the atomic bombs the Republicans have in their arsenal that for some reason known but to God they are unwilling to use!
For Heaven’s sake, they won’t even allow two conservative superstars, Sarah Palin and Colonel Allen West- to speak at the convention!
With the dismal outcomes of Obama’s empty promises he made in 2008, his administration’s direct connection to the murder of Brian Terry, his squandering of our taxpayer dollars for no other reason than to benefit his Union and “green job” campaign benefactors, his stonewalling on energy, his total irreverence for the First Amendment and freedom of Religion and of conscience; his de facto increase in the size of the Dependency Class in America; his administration’s extended use of drone technology to target American citizens; his administration’s selective administration of the law (i.e., their refusal to prosecute the Black Panther voter intimidation case); not to mention his wholesale complicity with the destruction of the unborn; we not only have a Cuisinart- we have the most powerful weapon known to man on our side–the TRUTH– and it’s high time the RNC uses it.

Thou Shalt Not Have Strange gods...

Eleven million taxpayer-funded dollars. Supposedly to help 400 people in Detroit find jobs. Even if every one of those 4o0 people found a job, that would be $27,500 in taxpayer money spent, per job. Ludicrous enough, no?

Well, what if only TWO (2) of those 400 people found jobs?

A chunk of an $11 million stimulus grant meant to provide low-income Detroit residents with clothing for job interviews reportedly aided just two people — far short of the 400 job-seekers the money was meant to help.

The findings were part of a new audit on the city’s Department of Human Services, according to The Detroit News.

That, my friends, comes to a cost of $5.5 MILLION dollars. Per job. Nice return on investment there, Barry.
Fast forward to yesterday (emphases added):

In the wake of lobbying by President Obama and Senate Democratic leaders, the Senate Thursday defeated legislation to speed up construction of a U-S.-Canadian oil pipeline. The White House victory came after the president started personally calling Democratic senators Wednesday night. The vote underscored the extent to which rising gas prices and energy supply have become a central political issue.

So, to Barack Obama, a stimulus program that costs taxpayers hundreds of millions, and which is a failure by any clear-thinking person’s standards is hailed as a success; while killing a program that creates at least 25,000 jobs, all without a dime of taxpayer money, is somehow considered a ‘victory.’

To Barack Hussein Obama, nothing can be successful; nothing can be true and real unless it is a direct machination of government. No matter how big the failure a government program is, it is still a success, because to a statist like Obama, nothing is possible, nothing is real unless it has its underpinnings in government.

To Obama, Government is reality. The government is the source of all that is good and just in the world. The private sector is what is contrived. To Obama, the private sector is an anomaly; an abomination that must be controlled so as not to infringe upon the government’s influence in people’s lives. The god of Government is a jealous god. Thou shalt not have strange Gods before it. Even religion itself takes a back seat to Obama’s real religion.

After all, in order to appease the god of Government and to gain its good graces, one must certainly give alms:

More than half of Obama’s 47 biggest fundraisers, those who collected at least $500,000 for his campaign, have been given administration jobs. Nine more have been appointed to presidential boards and committees.

At least 24 Obama bundlers were given posts as foreign ambassadors, including in Finland, Australia, Portugal and Luxembourg. Among them is Don Beyer, a former Virginia lieutenant governor who serves as ambassador to Switzerland and Liechtenstein.

….

Obama has appointed 59 ambassadors who were not career Foreign Service officers, and of those, 40 percent were bundlers.

Welcome to the church of Obama.

God help its heretics.

Malfeasance R Us.

Not only is there a plethora of doublespeak in this administration, but apparently, an abundance of double-counting things that weren’t really there in the first place:

During a hearing on Capitol Hill Thursday, the secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) admitted to double-counting in the Obamacare budget.

In her first appearance before the House Energy and Commerce Health Subcommittee since the health-care law passed, Kathleen Sebelius responded to a line of questioning by Republican Rep. John Shimkus of Illinois about whether $500 billion in Medicare cuts were used to sustain the program or pay for the law.

“There is an issue here on the budget because your own actuary has said you can’t double-count,” said Shimkus. “You can’t count — they’re attacking Medicare on the CR when their bill, your law, cut $500 billion from Medicare.”

He continued: “Then you’re also using the same $500 billion to what? Say your funding health care. Your own actuary says you can’t do both. […] What’s the $500 billion in cuts for? Preserving Medicare or funding the health-care law?

Sebelius’ reply? “Both.”

Why am I not surprised? That’s the whole thing about this bunch. NOTHING surprises me anymore. NOTHING. There could be a story tomorrow about monkeys flying out of the White House, with Michelle on the back balcony, screaming, “Fly, Fly!” …and it wouldn’t surprise me.

The depth and breadth of incompetence, not to mention the outright deliberate malfeasance of this administration, were it not for real, would be laughable.

Wisconsin: The Gulag Across The Border

I lived in Wisconsin for 12 years; this is nothing less than abominable:
In the dark of night, behind closed doors, WI enacted the new Government Accountability Board – G.A.B. 128 Rule which silences political free speech 60 days prior to the election. Conveniently, this law goes into effect on August 15, 2010 with little to no time for successful legal challenges prior to the November 2010 election.

The entire text of the G.A.B. 1 Rule can be found here (Sections 1.10, 1.28, and 1.42 are most revealing).

Under this new law, individuals and groups must pay a $100 registration fee to the state of WI if they want permission to use political speech that totals at least $25 “cumulatively in a calendar year.” But it doesn’t stop there…

Individuals and groups must set up a separate depository account and file a report with the Accountability Board and Secretary of State. They then need to provide periodic reports of every communication – explaining the type of communication/action for each and every episode of political free speech.
The prime reason, among others, for the First Amendment, is to protect free political speech. This rule now in Wisconsin law renders political speech anything BUT free, either in the ability to express political opinions freely, nor in the sense of being able to express political opinions without paying a tribute to government.

I don't care if you're the most far-out-whacked liberal, or conservative. This should make anyone who values the freedom to speak out to bleed from their eyes.

BOYCOTT WISCONSIN.

The Minnesota Supreme Court Gives the DFL Carte Blanche

Minnesota's Supreme Court today ruled that Governor Pawlenty acted beyond his authority when he un-allotted spending items from the DFL submitted un-balanced budget.

Under Minnesota's Constitution, the Minnesota legislature is required to present a balanced budget to the governor for signature within a specific time frame. Margaret-Anderson-Kelliher's DFL-led Minnesota legislature failed miserably in their Constitutional duty, banking on a mistaken notion that the lack of a balanced budget would force Governor Pawlenty to call a special session, one that would have the very real possibility of lasting ad-infinitum while the DFL had their way with the budget and squandered untold taxpayer dollars in the process.

Governor Pawlenty, on the other hand, being the statesman that he is, was not about to entertain DFL-foolishness. Instead, he made good on his promise that if Margaret Anderson-Keliher's DFL-led legislature would not meet their Constitutional obligations within the Constitutionally-mandated timeline, he would have to play the parent by utilizing his un-allotment authority to balance the budget.

This was a strong message to the Margaret-Anderson Keliher DFL-led legislature that the days of shirking their responsibility in the interest of political gamesmanship were over, and served as a common-sense protection of and stewardship of hard-earned taxpayer dollars.

Then enter the Minnesota State Supreme Court, whose decision today will bring our state that much closer to insolvency.

In a press release, Minnesota GOP-endorsed gubernatorial hopeful, Tom Emmer, had this to say about today's decision:

The court changed the law in midstream by adding a time constraint to when the governor could exercise his unallotment powers. Once the court changed the law, they found that the Commissioner of Finance did not follow the “new” law.

So, in effect, a judicially-imposed 'ex post facto' law, or bill of attainder.

Today's decision was a loss, not only for Governor Pawlenty, but for the integrity of Minnesota's budget and for the rights of Minnesotans to be served by their elected officials within the parameters of their Constitution:

The legislature shall meet at the seat of government in regular session in each biennium at the times prescribed by law for not exceeding a total of 120 legislative days. The legislature shall not meet in regular session, nor in any adjournment thereof, after the first Monday following the third Saturday in May of any year.

The Minnesota Supreme Court, today, in effect, gave Margaret-Anderson-Keliher's DFL-controlled legislature a green light to ignore their Constitutional obligations.

The Idiocracy and Illegal Immigration

St. Paul Mayor, Chris Coleman, for example
Arizona isn't a frequent work destination for city employees, but that's not the point, Coleman said. The law, "rooted in hate and fear," sets a dangerous example, he said.

"It will create a culture where racial profiling is acceptable and will create a dangerous wedge between police officers and the communities they serve," Coleman said. "I can't imagine what it would have been like for my grandmother had they passed a similar anti-Irish law.

"Today I choose to stand with the millions of immigrants in our city and across the country who should have access to the same level of safety and opportunity as everyone else."

The above-emboldened quote, of course, doesn't apply to a white honky-cracker cattle rancher, does it Chris? But I digress.

A "Thank You" Note...

Wow--I received this neat email letter today from none other than Joltin' Joe Biden!
Leo --

Two weeks after it was signed into law, health insurance reform is still the talk of the town.

It's for a good reason: This was a historic accomplishment. But it wasn't easy. I remember what it's like to be a senator and take a tough stand on an issue -- confident that it's the best thing for your constituents, but equally sure that special interests will pour buckets of money into attacking you for it.

Your senators, Amy Klobuchar and Al Franken, took that tough stand when they supported health reform. Now, we need to provide a line of defense money can't buy: the voices of real constituents speaking out and showing their support.

That's where you come in. Do you have three minutes to jot down a quick letter to your local newspaper? If you need ideas on what to say, you can watch a quick video Organizing for America put together about how reform will benefit Minnesota.

Believe me, senators and their staff read the letters page -- because they know just how influential it can be. Your letter could make a tremendous difference.

In my conversations with my old colleagues, I made it clear that this White House was prepared to back them up -- that no barrage of partisan attack ads would go unanswered. But to follow through, I'm going to need some help from folks like you.

This legislation will put Americans in control of their own health care, rein in insurance-company abuses, and give millions of Americans access to affordable health care for the first time.

Special interests know that in the coming months, all their lies about reform will be proven false. But that won't stop them from inventing new ones and spreading attack ads.

It's just the first step, but one letter from a constituent is worth a hundred paid advertisements. So please make sure your friends and neighbors understand the benefits this law will bring to ordinary Americans -- take three minutes and write a paragraph or two now:

http://my.barackobama.com/SenateThank

Thanks,

Vice President Joe Biden
Well, shucks--that was mighty nice of ol' Joe--I mean--to offer the resources of Organizing for America to write a letter of 'thanks' to Amy Klobuchar and Al Franken for their thoughtful consideration in voting for Obamacare! It was so nice, that I thought I would take him up on his offer. So, I wrote the following LTE to the St. Cloud Times, the Star Tribune, and the Duluth Tribune, all on OFA's dime:
I am writing this letter to voice my disgust over Senators Al Franken and Amy Klobuchar's blind passage of the behemoth health care bill that is neither about bringing down the cost of health care nor of expanding the coverage of quality health care. Already we are seeing the effects of planned layoffs at corporations who will, by virtue of the mandates of the bill, be required to lay off hundreds of workers, merely to stay in business. This, along with the proposed Value Added Tax (VAT) could not come at a worse time, and will only prolong this, the greatest recession since the 1930s. This bill was ill conceived from the onset, and it is clear that Senators Klobuchar and Franken lacked the integrity to do the right thing and to block the passage to the greatest affront to America's personal and financial liberties since before the American Revolution.

Rest assured, the voters will long remember this transgression, and Senators Klobuchar and Franken will go down in History in the Hall of One-Term Wonders.
Admittedly, It may not be the type of "thank you" letter that Joe Biden, Barack Obama and OFA had in mind, but what the heck. They were the ones that sent the invite.
Click on the link above, and have some fun, yourselves!

Phil Hare: We Don't Need No Stinkin' Constitution.

The democrats' collective and singular arrogance knows no bounds:

Yes, dear readers...that arrogant son of a bitch is none other than Congressman Phil Hare (D-IL-17); a man who took an oath of office to "protect and defend the Constitution of the United States, from all enemies. foreign and domestic."

Seems that Phil Hare didn't figure himself in the equation when taking that oath.

Mr. Hare, who is surely ignoring his oath as he ignores the Constitution, should be tried for treason.

h/t Big Government.

****UPDATE****

A correspondent of mine whom I trust, and who used to work with Phil Hare, notes:
Leo, I just watched the video on your blog. I am so disgusted by Congressman Phil Hare! While in college, (please don't hold this against me) I worked for Congressman Lane Evans, who was in office for over 20 years. Phil Hare was his 'right hand' and I kid you not, he was a terrible person! He WAS the primary reason I changed my major from Political Science to Business Administration. Phil Hare had NO idea what he was doing then, and he had an affair with one of the young INTERNS! She was only 18 years old! Anyway, please keep that video...

[SNIP]

Yes, same man who had me and two other 17-18 year olds choosing who got nominated to West Point Military Academy. I ASSURE you he didn't read the #HCR bill, and YES he is a liar.. It was in 1983, and he was 34 at the time. She was named **** and a student at Grinnell College (in IA). Phil's wife was Beckie Hare. I was working late one night and walked in on them in his office. After that he treated me terribly... I am sure he was so worried that I would tell his 'dirty secret!'

That was Lane's first year in office. Lane is very ill and has had Parkinson's for many years; now in a wheelchair. It is why he left office, and the only reason Phil was elected was due to Lane's support and fact that he was with him for so many years. Made me sick.

People like him do not belong in any elected office.

Forget the "nuclear option." The dems are going Thermo-Nuclear.

As Red State and Let Freedom Ring have reported, there is a movement afoot led by democrat representative Louise Slaughter to pass the Senate version of the Health Care bill without even having to vote on it. As Congress Daily reports:
House Rules Chairwoman Louise Slaughter is prepping to help usher the healthcare overhaul through the House and potentially avoid a direct vote on the Senate overhaul bill, the chairwoman said Tuesday.

Slaughter is weighing preparing a rule that would consider the Senate bill passed once the House approves a corrections bill that would make changes to the Senate version.
This end-around around the Constitutional intent of internal and external checks and balances is nothing less than appalling and dictatorial.

As the polls clearly illustrate, the democrats are now attempting to rule against the consent of the governed, and are doing so with an iron fist, regardless of the consequences. Although they know full well that their present course will invariably spell political disaster for them in November, they continue to press on and fall on their swords for their megalomanaiacal commander in chief. This brazen and blatant thwarting of the will of the people is illustrative of the democrat majority and President Obama as acting not as elected representatives, but as overlords.

At least Bill Clinton had enough sense to read the tea leaves in 1994 that the public wanted no part of government-run health care, and let the issue go. In 2006, George W. Bush let go of his signature issue, the privatization of Social Security (which to this day I believe was a good idea) when the democrats convinced a majority of the people to reject it. But Barack Hussein Obama, being the narcissist and megalomaniac that he is, will have none of it. Tyrant and statist that he is, he will get his 'legacy' enacted, even at the expense of his underlings, and even at the expense of the well-being of the American people.

Well, we certainly have our 'change,' don't we. I'm still waiting on the 'hope' part; but I won't hold my breath.

Scorched Earth: Dems To Exercise Nuclear Option on Obamacare!

Connie Hair on Human Events reports:

The bill certified for “reconciliation” is the Ways & Means version of H.R. 3200 that was passed out of committee before the August break, and before it was read aloud at town hall meetings across the country and blasted by voters across the country.

It contains all of the horrors previously exposed: federal funding of abortion, coverage for illegal aliens, comparative effectiveness, healthcare rationing, deep cuts to Medicare. Everything the American people overwhelmingly reject.

No amendments were allowed at the hearing and no debate. Rangel told Rep. Dave Camp (R-Mich.), the ranking Republican on the committee, that he would not have preferred to do it this way, but leadership — i.e., Speaker Pelosi — forced his hand.

Damn the torpedoes, full speed ahead. By so obviously thwarting the will of a vast majority of the American people, It would appear to that the democrats are quite willing to relegate themselves into a permanent minority, if it will advance America’s downward spiral into the bowels of their great socialist experiment.

They want it that bad.

The ends, after all, justify the means.

Epic FAIL On Part of Dems to Blame Vandalism on TEA Party Activists...

It would appear that the democrat headquarters in Denver Colorado were vandalized:
A 24-year-old arrested this morning on suspicion of smashing 11 windows at Colorado Democratic Party headquarters tried to conceal his identity while allegedly committing the crime, according to police descriptions.
So who is this guy who tried to conceal his identity while perpetrating his vandalism? No doubt some whacked out, right wing extremist tea-party nutcase, right?

Wrong!

While Schwenkler does not appear in the state's voter registration database, a person by that name in November 2008 received $500 from a political 527 committee called Colorado Citizens Coalition for "communications," according to campaign finance disclosures.

The accountant for the 527 appears to be the same woman who handles the books for many other Democratic-leaning political committees.

A Maurice Schwenkler also signed an online 2005 petition to free anti-war Christian protesters who were captured in Iraq.

The broken glass hadn't even found its resting place on the floor of the Denver Democrat Party Headquarters before convenient, self-righteous bony fingers of indignation were pointing at TEA Party revelers:

State Democratic Party Chairwoman Pat Waak initially blamed the vandalism on animosity surrounding the health care debate, though Denver police declined to comment on possible motives.

The shattered windows were emblazoned with posters touting President Barack Obama and the Democratic position on health care reform.

The other storefronts surrounding the building on West Eighth Avenue and Santa Fe Drive in downtown Denver's art district were untouched. But the Democratic posters are scuffed from hammer blows, Waak said.

"We ought to be having a serious, conscientious debate about what's best for the country," Waak said. "Clearly there's been an effort on the other side to stir up hate. I think this is the consequence of it."

No doubt Waak wasn't counting on the hired help being caught in the act, and so soon..
An officer on patrol spotted vandals in the act around 2:20 a.m. and took Schwenkler into custody after a short chase, Denver police spokeswoman Vicki Ferrari said.
So, I see that the dems are not above hiring agents provacateurs to foment angst and hate among their ranks.

Yet, somehow, that does not surprise me in the least.

I think I see the ghost of Saul Alinsky in this story somewhere.

Obama Administration: Down with the Struggle?

It would seem that voter intimidation is a bad thing for all. Even for democrats. Unless one of their own does it, of course:

Justice Department political appointees overruled career lawyers and ended a civil complaint accusing three members of the New Black Panther Party for Self-Defense of wielding a nightstick and intimidating voters at a Philadelphia polling place last Election Day, according to documents and interviews.

The incident - which gained national attention when it was captured on videotape and distributed on YouTube - had prompted the government to sue the men, saying they violated the 1965 Voting Rights Act by scaring would-be voters with the weapon, racial slurs and military-style uniforms.

Career lawyers pursued the case for months, including obtaining an affidavit from a prominent 1960s civil rights activist who witnessed the confrontation and described it as "the most blatant form of voter intimidation" that he had seen, even during the voting rights crisis in Mississippi a half-century ago.

A Justice Department spokesman on Thursday confirmed that the agency had dropped the case, dismissing two of the men from the lawsuit with no penalty and winning an order against the third man that simply prohibits him from bringing a weapon to a polling place in future elections.
So, he's not allowed to bring a nightstick to the polling place anymore. I mean, how sensitive is that? Are you sure that's a culturally sensitive decision?

In all reality, one shouldn't be surprised that the Obama administration wouldn't want to prosecute a couple of goons for voter intimidation. After all, you never know when you're going to require a couple of brownshirts to do your bidding.

I Knew There Was Something Rotten in Denmark...

I've been hearing a lot of spots lately on KTLK-FM from a coalition of groups that were pushing the passage of Senate Bill 787 (the Clean Water Restoration Act). While listening to the ad, that among other things promised that its lack of passage would leave "polluters" to have free reign in polluting Mother Nature and her forest creatures, one of the groups paying for the ad was a group called "Earth Justice."

Earth Justice?

Just the word "justice" in the name implies that someone must be punished for some kind of infraction, imagined or otherwise. In other words, "You've polluted Mother Earth--now bend over and take it like a man, you polluter!"

So, when the ad asked listeners to "Call Senator Klobuchar and ask her to support this bill," I knew immediately what to do. I called Senator Klobuchar and asked her to vote against the bill (not that it would do a helluva lot of good, anyway). I instinctively knew that any bill the enviro-whackos were supporting would be certain to 1. Take away liberties; 2. Cost a helluva lot of money or 3. Both.

Turns out my instincts were right:

So, if you live outside of Minnesota and have a U.S. Senator who will actually listen to reason, do all of us a favor and tell them to vote down this travesty of justice. I'd tell Minnesota Senator Amy Klobuchar that, but, well, she's a democrat, and has a 100% democrat lemming voting record, and even if the Democrats introduced a bill that would re-establish slavery, she'd vote for it, just because there was a "D" next to the sponsor's name.

This, of course, is just another in what will be a parade of bills by democrats designed to solidify governmental power and to abolish individual liberty.

Yes, elections do matter, folks.

MN State Representative Tony Cornish's Message To Taxpayers...

Mr. Cornish explains...
Playing this morning's commute, over the noon hour and this afternoon's commute on 5 different am and fm stations in Mankato.

One woman called and complained that I was making future homeowners, "Live in Fear!"

The spending and taxing spree that's going on courtesy of the democrats in St. Paul (as well as in Washington, D.C.) should make every thinking taxpaying citizen tremble in fear. But as I've stated before, the liberal democrats' inevitable tendency to overreach will ultimately be their undoing.

Their days in power are, to say, quite 'numbered.'

What Happens When You Mix Arrogance with Memory Loss?

You get boneheaded publicity stunts like this:
A jumbo jet being chased by a F-16 fighter jets buzzed Lower Manhattan this morning, panicking New Yorkers, many of whom were forced to evacuate their office buildings.

It was not a terrorist attack, however, but a photo opportunity for Air Force One, sources told the Post.

President Obama was in Washington at the time, but the low-flying 747 circling the Statue of Liberty was one of the planes used as Air Force One, sources said.

The NYPD and the city were notified of the planned flight, but did not share that information with Mayor Bloomberg and other New Yorkers, many of whom said they were terrified.
From a psychological perspective, this was a cruel and twisted joke. Many New Yorkers still suffer from post-traumatic stress disorder, a mental disorder whereby sights, sounds and/or smells can re-trigger fight-or-flight responses associated with a past traumatic event.

But remember, ladies and gents, according to the mental giants gnats, i.e., Obama & the rest of the teenagers with credit cards (a/k/a-the democrat-controlled Congress), 9/11 never happened. It's not even a war on terror anymore. It is a memory to be stuffed and snuffed; so I'm sure that quiz-kid Obama never thought twice about allowing this sophomoric stunt to occur.

There is a White House official who fell on the sword, but you can bet that His Arrogance and Pompancy, Barack Hussein Obama, will never apologize personally for re-traumatizing New Yorkers.

In the words of Bugs Bunny...

What a maroon.
