I-35 W Bridge Update

I accompanied Representative Steve Gottwalt for what was to be a tour of the bridge site; however, it was not to be since just before the tour was to get underway, more bodies were sadly found in the wreckage. Due to deference for the victims, the site is closed to all except emergency and evacuation personnel.

We did, however, receive an official briefing. A place was found under the debris where reportedly some of the bodies ended up after being swept by the current from their cars. Recovery continues to be dicey and very dangerous, due to the currents keeping the debris in a constant state of motion. Additionally, the part of the bridge that was still attached to land appears to be pulling away, making things even more dangerous.
