Enviro-Whackos to Taxpayers: Hand us your money!

Before everyone finds out that MMGW's a scam:
The Great Lakes are likely to face serious threats from global warming and Congress needs to pay for restoring the lakes now so they’ll have a better chance of being resilient once temperatures rise and lake levels drop as predicted. Warming over the next century could lower lakes and expose toxic sediment that has been buried, reduce wetlands that help filter pollution and cause heavy rains that lead to more sewer overflows, threatening water quality, a new report by the Healing Our Waters-Great Lakes Coalition says.
Wait a minute. Which is it? Will the lake levels lower, or will there be torrential rains? Or will it only rain over land? Global warming? WHAT GLOBAL FRIGGEN WARMING? Are you talking about one of the coldest Aprils on record? Are you talking about the fact that the earth's mean temperature really hasn't risen to any significant degree since 1998? Are you talking about my motorcycle ride on Monday from Detroit Lakes, on May friggen 26th, when it didn't get above 50 degrees???
The lakes are desperately in need of $20 billion Midwestern legislators have already asked Congress for, and the longer the funding is delayed, the more costly the projects will become, said Jeff Skelding, director of the coalition. One possible source of funds is the Senate bill to curb greenhouse gases that will be debated next week, authored by Senators Joe Lieberman and John Warner. All three presidential candidates support some curbs on greenhouse gases to slow global warming. The bill would provide $1 to $3 billion per year from carbon trading permits that could be used to restore large-scale ecosystems, Skelding said.
Just follow the money.

When will our candidates (especially Republicans) finally call these moron horse-thief charlatans for what they are-- scam artists, and put the interests of the people ahead of the extreme environmental movement, whose real aim is to bring about a socialist society, and cash in during the process.
