$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

(graphic from Salon.com)

That's the reason behind the global warming swindle, in so many words:
TOKYO - The world needs to invest $45 trillion in energy in coming decades, build some 1,400 nuclear power plants and vastly expand wind power in order to halve greenhouse gas emissions by 2050, according to an energy study released Friday.
We've allowed this insanity to bleed into the political fabric of our currently elected public officials, and even into our presumptive presidential candidate.

Now quit whining, bend over and take it like a man.

Things that make you go hmmm....

McCain would like to see a man on mars.

No doubt that man's last name would either be Obama or Limbaugh.

What the Left really thinks about our troops...

But is too afraid to say.

H/t Chickenhawk Express, whose commenter says,

Where do I find this shitstain? I have a tin Louisville Slugger that needs some work.

HOOAH!

Look what the cat dragged in...

Our very own magnanimous Eva Young (readherblog) saw it fit to forward my post from a couple of years ago to a neo-socialist, trogloditic, knuckle-dragging, pointy-headed, arrogant academician who thinks he's god's gift to atheists.

Rediculous.

Another Tarryl Clark Smackdown...

This time from Representative Ron Hamilton, with the kicker being,
It appears Minnesota Assistant Senate Majority Leader Tarryl Clark is a little upset over the fact that I brought her feelings regarding nursing home funding to your attention. She says I’m “misleading” you, “distorting the record,” and “muddying the waters.”

Actually, what I gave you was her direct quote — “nursing homes don’t really count” in their (the Senate DFL) definition of health care.

You can’t get any more crystal clear than that. These words come from one of the most powerful people in the Legislature (second in command in the Minnesota Senate), which is why I was extremely disappointed in her comments. I’ve spoken to Senator Vickerman on this topic and he agrees with me on the need to help our nursing homes and long-term care facilities.
Read, as they say, the whole thing.

BTW, Rep. Hamilton, if you're looking for any more Tarryl Clark Zingers, we got a million of 'em!

I guess we should not be surprised that Ms. Clark would treat eldercare as a burden. After all, look from whence she and others of her ilk come. The very same party that treats vulnerable developing humans as "burdens;" dare I say, "punishments."

Why should the elderly be any different in their eyes?

What are Obama's Legislative Accomplishments?

Damned if his own supporters can figure it out.

My nephew the doctor!!

I begged and pleaded with her to stay in, but,...

This was in my inbox this morning.

Dear Leo,

I wanted you to be one of the first to know: on Saturday, I will hold an event in Washington D.C. to thank everyone who has supported my campaign. Over the course of the last 16 months, I have been privileged and touched to witness the incredible dedication and sacrifice of so many people working for our campaign. Every minute you put into helping us win, every dollar you gave to keep up the fight meant more to me than I can ever possibly tell you.

On Saturday, I will extend my congratulations to Senator Obama and my support for his candidacy. This has been a long and hard-fought campaign, but as I have always said, my differences with Senator Obama are small compared to the differences we have with Senator McCain and the Republicans.

I have said throughout the campaign that I would strongly support Senator Obama if he were the Democratic Party's nominee, and I intend to deliver on that promise.

When I decided to run for president, I knew exactly why I was getting into this race: to work hard every day for the millions of Americans who need a voice in the White House.

I made you -- and everyone who supported me -- a promise: to stand up for our shared values and to never back down. I'm going to keep that promise today, tomorrow, and for the rest of my life.

I will be speaking on Saturday about how together we can rally the party behind Senator Obama. The stakes are too high and the task before us too important to do otherwise.

I know as I continue my lifelong work for a stronger America and a better world, I will turn to you for the support, the strength, and the commitment that you have shown me in the past 16 months. And I will always keep faith with the issues and causes that are important to you.

In the past few days, you have shown that support once again with hundreds of thousands of messages to the campaign, and again, I am touched by your thoughtfulness and kindness.

I can never possibly express my gratitude, so let me say simply, thank you.

Sincerely,
Hillary
Hillary Rodham Clinton

Never Mind!!

Is that what John Murtha will say upon hearing this news?

LOS ANGELES (AFP) — A court martial has acquitted a US Marine for his role in the deaths of 24 civilians in Haditha in Iraq in 2005, the sixth man to be exonerated in the affair.

Lieutenant Andrew Grayson, 27, was declared "not guilty on all charges" by a jury, said a spokesman for the Camp Pendleton military base in southern California where the hearing started on May 28.

Grayson had been charged with making false statements and attempting to fraudulently separate from the Marine Corps. He was also charged with obstruction of justice, but the military judge dismissed this charge Tuesday.

I phoned Jack Murtha's office this morning promptly at 8am (EDT) to ask if there would be a forthcoming retraction or apology, but the staffer who answered the phone call appeared clueless about Haditha, much less whether Jihad Jack would issue an apology.

Today's news harkens back to the gasbag's pronouncement of guilt that fateful day of May, 2006, without any official briefing, all to advance his own sorry political career:

Notice when Murtha proclaimed, "I know there was a coverup someplace."

Notice that Murtha said, "The commandant didn't say it was murder, but what was it?"

(It was called following Rules of Engagement (ROE), Congressman).

Notice when Murtha said to Charlie Gibson, "Don't make excuses for the military!"

But also notice that when Murtha is called to task and is called to account, he always has excuses for himself:

Although a dunce, at least Emily Litella had the humility to admit she was wrong.

Murtha, it seems, needs a refresher course of what it means to be a Marine.

The list of Marines waiting to be exonerated in the Haditha case grows slimmer and slimmer.

Will Jihad Jack Murtha, a veteran Marine, have the honor to admit he was wrong, apologize, resign, and/or make reparations to the Marines whose lives were ruined as a result of his political ambitions run amok?

It would be advisable not to hold one's breath in anticipation of the answer to that question.

Stop the Insanity!

Tell your elected representative (especially Senator Norm Coleman) that the time to put an end to propagating the MMGW scam is now.

Click here to sign the petition.

The following is the personal message that I wrote:
Please vote against the Warner-Lieberman “Climate Security” (sic) Act.

Policy based on failed and unproven science is unconscionable, especially in an age when Americans are being taxed more and more on their freedom of mobility.

Know this: To base policy on events in which man has no power nor bearing is a death-wish to our economic future, not to mention our national security. Our best, most prosperous days must be in front of us, not behind us.

Please stop this insanity, and vote against the Warner-Lieberman Cap and Trade bill.

Sincerely,

Leo Pusateri

Hypocrisy at the UN...who'd a thunk it?

(Photo: Philippe Wojazer/Reuters)

From the Oil for Food scandal, to raping women during "peacekeeping missions," to having state sponsors of terror on their "human rights commission," there has never been a more vile conglomeration of self-serving, profligate corruption than there is in the current form of the United Nations.

In a recent "Food Summit" to discuss world hunger, the following menu was featured:

2008 menu

Vol au vent with sweetcorn and mozzarella
Pasta with cream of pumpkin and shrimps
Veal olives with cherry tomatoes and basil
Fruit salad with vanilla ice cream
Vin Orvieto Classico Poggio Calvelli 2005

This was ostensibly a more "sensitive menu" than was feasted upon at a similar summit in 2002, which featured

2002 menu

Foie gras and toast with kiwi fruit
Lobster in vinaigrette
Fillet of goose with olives
Seasonal vegetables
Compote of fruit with vanilla
Vins multiple fine wines

Said one U.N. scumbag, (emphases added)
“It does not look good if leaders discussing global starvation are seen to be dining lavishly,” an FAO official said. “At the last summit in 2002 we did not give enough thought to the menu and were open - unfairly, in our view - to the charge of hypocrisy.
"Unfairly"???

Time to shut the door permanently on these bozos and instead form an alliance of free nations, whose mission it would be to spread freedom and capitalism around the world, and to free the world of self-serving, tinhorn dictator thugs.

I can guarantee you that if that mission was accomplished, poverty and hunger would vanish in less than a generation.

France: We're being taken over by Islam: And we like it!

That's the message that they're giving to Bridget Bardot:
PARIS - Brigitte Bardot was convicted Tuesday of provoking discrimination and racial hatred for writing that Muslims are destroying France.

Bardot's lawyer, Francois-Xavier Kelidjian, said he would talk to her about the possibility of an appeal.

A leading French anti-racism group known as MRAP filed a lawsuit last year over a letter she sent to then-Interior Minister Nicolas Sarkozy. The remarks were published in her foundation's quarterly journal.

In the December 2006 letter to Sarkozy, now the president, Bardot said France is "tired of being led by the nose by this population that is destroying us, destroying our country by imposing its acts."

Bardot, 73, was referring to the Muslim feast of Aid el-Kebir, celebrated by slaughtering sheep.

Rather than arguing Bardot's assertions on their merits, the dhimmi's in France would rather debate by silencing opposition with a muzzle and a hammer.

Of course, Bardot, outside of being stunningly beautiful, is also stunningly right on the mark with this one.

In this country, we of course, have the First Amendment that would have protected Bardot. But believe me, there are a helluva lot of liberals who would like to have the muzzle control on speech that France does.

More leftist dhimmis in the news...

Again, despite the success in Iraq, and taking his cue from Nancy Al-Pelosi and Harry Al-Reid (albeit a bit late to the seditionist game), Australia's new moonbat PM, Kevin Rudd, tried his hand at playing the defeat-at-any-cost meme:

CANBERRA, Australia - Prime Minister Kevin Rudd accused his predecessor of abusing intelligence information to justify invading Iraq, saying the Australian people were misled.

Rudd made one of his most strident attacks on the former government's decision to join the Iraq war as he fulfilled an election pledge to withdraw Australian combat troops from the Middle East country.

"We must learn from Australia's experience in the lead-up to going to war with Iraq and not repeat the same mistakes in the future," Rudd told Parliament on Monday.

He criticized former Prime Minister John Howard's government for going to war without accurate information or a full assessment of the consequences. John Howard sent 2,000 troops to support U.S. and British forces in the 2003 invasion.

"Of most concern to this government was the manner in which the decision to go to war was made: the abuse of intelligence information, a failure to disclose to the Australian people the qualified nature of that intelligence," Rudd said.

Before the invasion, Howard argued that Saddam Hussein had to be toppled to prevent the spread of weapons of mass destruction and terrorism. The weapons were not discovered and no definite links were established between Saddam and al-Qaida or other terror networks.

Ain't hindsight grand? C'mon Aussies... you can do better than this bozo.

On the Day of Reckoning...

To whom will the democrats answer?

The "surge strategy" in Iraq, despite the wailing and gnashing of teeth on the left, is becoming an unqualified success.

To whom will Harry Reid answer, after declaring "The Iraq War is Lost?"

To whom will John Murtha answer, after falsely calling our soldiers cold blooded killers, labelling them "broken"?

To whom will Nancy Pelosi answer, after trying to attribute recent successes not to our men and women in uniform, not to the Iraqis, who are slowly but surely building a stable government from scratch, but to sworn enemies of the United States; Iran, specifically?

To whom will the democrat party (and their willing media accomplices) answer, after doing their level best at every level to sabotage our soldiers' efforts in Iraq in the court of public opinion, up to and including slander and out and out betrayal?

To whom will the democrat party answer?

The day of reckoning will be nigh, when people will realize the traitorous filth that resides in the democrat party.

And that day won't come a minute too soon.
