Switching horses in midstream?

Andy at Residual Forces gives us a good rundown on Tim Pawlenty's noontime speech yesterday at the Elephant Club. Interesting and telling observations. Read the whole thing. Makes one wonder if one really needs to stray this far from principles in order to get elected. Pawlenty ran on a platform of fiscal conservatism back in 2002, and along with this guy did a fantastically bang-up job of restoring our state to some resemblance of fiscal sanity. At that time, he was considered a financial genius by friend and foe alike. He was considered unbeatable, until he started getting quirky on us.

It is my strong recommendation that the Governor not lose sight of the horse that rode him into town. Any other horse he decides to ride might just buck him off.
