A Kangaroo Court?

Just another in the saga of a partisan witch hunt, WND reports:

When Rep. Tom DeLay is booked this Friday on charges of money laundering, the presiding judge will be a Democrat Party activist who has contributed money to the presidential campaign of Sen. John Kerry, the Democratic National Committee and the George Soros-backed MoveOn.org.

DeLay will face booking in a Texas county jail before Judge Bob Perkins despite attempts by his attorneys to bypass the fingerprinting and mugshot process.

The former House majority leader was forced to step down from the post when he was indicted by a Texas grand jury. DeLay initially was charged with conspiracy to violate the election code and days later was indicted on charges of money laundering and conspiracy to launder money in an alleged illegal scheme to funnel corporate money to Republican Texas legislative candidates.

I've blogged about this witch hunt here, here, here, and here. Heck, this "lets throw everything against the wall and see if something sticks" crusade has been going on since April. IMO, even with these specious charges being tossed out of court, as it sits now the dems will still have accomplished their mission when and if DeLay makes the "perp walk" on camera. Either way, at this point it seems like a win-win for the dems. This, my friends, as they say, means war. When DeLay is acquitted, there had better be some Republican leadership with the cajones to launch a full-scale Senate investigation as to democrat abuses of prosecutorial power, with conspiracy investigations at all levels of party and legislative leadership, as well as their usual willing cronies scrutinized with an anal probe. If the dems want to play hardball, it's time we respond in kind.
