Let the games begin...
Bernie Pinsonat, a bipartisan pollster with Southern Media and Opinion Research in Baton Rouge, La., said the president — along with local political figures — may eventually be blamed (emphasis mine) for circumstances that led to the flooding of New Orleans.
Well wouldya looky here and here:!!
While no one could have anticipated when a hurricane of Katrina's power would hit the Gulf coast or the extent of damage it would do, the devastation in New Orleans was predictable and preventable, and the Bush administration and Republicans in Congress must bear responsibility for slashing the funds meant for shoring up the levees meant to keep the water out.
"As these facts get out, and the American people learn that decisions were made not to fund improvements of the levees because of Iraq, they will not be happy," said Chris Kofinis, a Democratic consultant in Washington.I guess that the term "evenutally" to a democrat must translate to "immediately" to anyone else. At least they waited a couple of weeks or so after 9/11 before their partisan compulsions took over. Whenever disaster strikes, one thing is certain. You can look to republicans to lead and do, and the democrats to do nothing but sit back and whine. I can guaran-damn-tee you that if Bush and Congress allocated funds meant for body armor to something else you can bet that the fine folks at the DNC would be the first to caterwall about it. Talk about opportunist ambulance chasers. Rhetoric such as these lame attempts to make political hay are no less opportunist nor reprehensible than the low-lifes looting Nike's from a New Orleans Wal Mart. Absolutely shameless!
