MN DFL: Call home...Transylvania's missing some citizens.

From fellow SCBA member Larry's blog:

Rep. Mindy Greiling, DFL-Roseville, called a press conference Monday morning to announce a bill she's introducing that would raise the top state income tax bracket from 7.85 percent to 8.5 percent, with the money designated to go into K-12 education.

Greiling, the chairwoman of the House K-12 Education Finance division, promised to have more than two dozen co-sponsors for the bill, though several people were noticeably absent from the press conference, including House Speaker Margaret Anderson Kelliher, House Majority Leader Tony Sertich and House Taxes committee Chairwoman Ann Lenczewski.

and...

The income threshold for the state's top bracket is $102,030 $123,750 for married couples filing jointly, $57,710 $69,990 for unmarried individuals and $86,910 $105,410 for unmarried heads of households.

The tax increase would generate an estimated $100.7 million $464.9 million during the next two years, Greiling said.

Yay!

2 billion dollars that the taxpaying public has or will be overpaying in taxes, and they want even more blood out of us.

You know, in the old days, they used to drive stakes through these kinds of people.

****UPDATE****

King has more.
