Karl Rove Will Not Be Indicted
(CNSNews.com) - After a three-year investigation and all the speculation that went with it, White House adviser Karl Rove has been told he will not be indicted in connection with Valerie Plame's case. According to the New York Times, Rove's lawyer, Robert Luskin, has issued a statement saying, "On June 12, 2006, Special Counsel Patrick Fitzgerald formally advised us that he does not anticipate seeking charges against Karl Rove." Only one person -- I. Lewis "Scooter" Libby Jr., the former chief of staff for Vice President Dick Cheney -- has been indicted on charges of perjury and obstruction of justice stemming from his testimony in the case. So far, no one has been indicted for blowing Plame's cover. "We believe that the Special Counsel's decision should put an end to the baseless speculation about Mr. Rove's conduct," Luskin said in his statement. Rove has made numerous appearances - at least five -- before the federal grand jury investigating the leak of Plame's name.
Looks like the left will have to put their creative juices together to come up with another straw-man contrivance.
