All enemies... foreign and domestic

In past years, most surprisingly in light of and even in spite of the events occurring on 9/11, I have seen a great reluctance in our elected officials to call a spade a spade. Specifically, a great reluctance to call traitors just that. Say what you want about Joe McCarthy. At least he recognized the enemy, and was unafraid to label him as such. When you get rhetoric from moonbats like this or this, why the reluctance to label them as "the enemy within"?

When our elected officials take the oath of office, they promise to defend the Constitution thusly:
I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter: So help me God.
Do Swimmer Kennedy, Pelosi, Murtha, Kerry, and others who, via their words and actions in a time of war, actually live up to that oath? Can anyone, with any moxie at all, defend their words in light of the promises that they have made to the people of the United States? Are these moonbats, by virtue of their words giving aid and comfort to our enemies, themselves domestic enemies of the United States?

There is an interesting take on the issue here:
The Rev. Jesse Lee Peterson, a conservative black leader, is among the Americans questioning Belafonte's sanity.

"Harry Belafonte's hatred of President Bush is causing him to embrace America's enemies," the Rev. Peterson said in a press release. "I also believe that his actions are treasonous as described by Article Three, Section Three o the U.S. Constitution, which says that 'adhering to our enemies, giving them Aid and Comfort' constitutes treason."

Peterson called Chavez a "brutal, paranoid dictator with nuclear ambitions who wants nothing more than to destroy the U.S."

Peterson said it's time to take U.S. laws seriously - by classifying Belafonte and his delegation as "domestic enemies of the United States."

By virtue of the rhetoric that has been spewing from their mouths as of late, I would dare say that too many of our own elected officials fall under the same classification..
