regarding defense mechanisms

In the field of Psychology, we study what are called "defense mechanisms." Specifically, it is what people use to justify their beliefs and assuage their guilt in the face of data that threatens the validity and/or morality of what they think or feel. One such mechanism is called projection, whereupon the person projects undesirable traits of oneself onto others. Nothing can be a better example of projection than this out of WaPo:
Another study presented at the conference, which was in Palm Springs, Calif., explored relationships between racial bias and political affiliation by analyzing self-reported beliefs, voting patterns and the results of psychological tests that measure implicit attitudes -- subtle stereotypes people hold about various groups.

That study found that supporters of President Bush and other conservatives had stronger self-admitted and implicit biases against blacks than liberals did.

"What automatic biases reveal is that while we have the feeling we are living up to our values, that feeling may not be right," said University of Virginia psychologist Brian Nosek, who helped conduct the race analysis. "We are not aware of everything that causes our behavior, even things in our own lives."

Brian Jones, a spokesman for the Republican National Committee, said he disagreed with the study's conclusions but that it was difficult to offer a detailed critique, as the research had not yet been published and he could not review the methodology. He also questioned whether the researchers themselves had implicit biases -- against Republicans -- noting that Nosek and Harvard psychologist Mahzarin Banaji had given campaign contributions to Democrats. (emhases added)

Democrats have been pointing the bony finger of racist indignation at republicans since their own rejection of the Civil Rights Act of 1964. Two of my favorite Bible verses comes from the Gospel of Matthew:

3

And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye?

4

Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me pull out the mote out of thine eye; and, behold, a beam is in thine own eye?

5

Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother's eye.

And...

15

Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.

16

Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?

17

Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit.

18

A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.

19

Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.

20

Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.

Well... let's look at each others' fruit, shall we?

Here's some homework:
1. How many people of color were in positions of real power in the Clinton administration?
2. How many people of color are in positions of real power in the Bush administration.
3. In what manner do democrats treat minorities, such as Clarence Thomas, or Janice Rogers Brown, or Condoleeza Rice, who do not espouse their liberal points of view? I'll give you a clue:

Or Try this:

or this:

After you've done this little bit of homework, ask yourselves, who are the real racists?

As a conservative, I have the belief in the basic goodness and abilities inherent in all of us, regardless of race or gender, minority status--what have you.

Limousine-liberal democrats, on the other hand, preach that minorities do not have the ability to succeed without their help, and come up with onerous programs like this. And woe be to that person of color who happens to stray off their plantation.

Defense mechanisms--projection--in play on the part of the Left?

Textbook, my dear readers.

Textbook.
