Fanning the flames?... The "Fifth Column" does its best...

Okay... From here:
Publish or Not? Muhammad Cartoons Still Vexing U.S. Editors By E&P Staff Published: February 08, 2006 10:15 AM ET NEW YORK Editors across the country continue to face difficult decisions surrounding the cartoons featuring the prophet Muhammad, which have set off rioting abroad. Few American papers have published the cartoon so far, although several have shown them on their Web sites or provided Web links.
If the decision to publish the "Muhammad cartoons" is such a vexing decision to make, so as not to raise Muslim ire and so as not to spark Islamic rioting, death, and/or mayhem, why are the MSM tripping all over their salivating tongues to publish this?

Alleged new Abu Ghraib abuse images revealed

Photos, video supposedly from 2003 incident that led to U.S. military trials

Australia - An Australian television network on Wednesday broadcast photographs and video clips it said were previously unpublished images of the alleged abuse of Iraqis held in U.S. military custody at Abu Ghraib prison.

The images were taken at Abu Ghraib in late 2003 at about the same time as previously published photographs of Iraqi prisoner abuse, the Special Broadcasting Service's "Dateline" program reported.

The images were consistent with the earlier photographs, which triggered outrage at alleged abuse by U.S. soldiers, a congressional investigation and military trials for some of those involved.

So much for not wanting to cause more rioting. As I have stated before, this is another example of the "flow chart template" that the MSM utilizes in deciding whether to publish an inflammatory story:
  • Potential to damage Bush or American military? (i.e., cartoons)---->NO---->Don't bother printing it.
  • Potential to damage Bush or American Military? (i.e., Quran flushing, Abu Ghraib)----->YES!!!--->Don't just sit there--RUN THE DAMN STORY!!!
Pretty damned simple, when you think about it.

****UPDATE****

I hate to say "I told you so":

They include two naked men handcuffed together, a pile of five naked detainees photographed from the rear, and a dog straining at a leash close to the face of a crouching man wearing a bright orange jumpsuit.

The images were swiftly re-broadcast by Arab satellite television stations and several news organizations, including American ABC News television, showed them on their Web sites.

They stirred up more anger among Arabs, already incensed by the publication on Sunday of images of British soldiers apparently beating Iraqi youths and by cartoons satirizing the Prophet Mohammad printed in European papers this month.

"The new pictures reignited the long-running pain that started with the occupation of Iraq. It angered me deeply, stabbed me in the heart to see my people paying for no reasonable reason," said Iraqi teacher Hanan Adeeb, 34.

"What hurts me more is for the world to see us tortured in this way without blinking an eye. When I see this I understand why people think the only way to get Iraq out of this dilemma is to send the Americans away no matter how." (emphases added)

All this for a situtation that happened over two years ago and was dealt with!!

Way to pour salt on wounds and stir up the hornet's nest for our soldiers, you asswipes.

Fucking seditious bastards.
