Regarding the Fair Tax...
While most of us have our taxes automatically withdrawn from our paychecks, one often does not give pause as to how ultimately obtrusive the tax code is in our daily lives.
The Fair Tax, when it finally does gain traction, will be our nation's greatest hope to finally going back to a limited, unobtrusive government. Rather than being an instrument of social engineering, the Fair Tax will fund essential government functions, but will leave the marketplace free of the burdens of taxation contingent on behavior.
IMO, the successful candidate for President in 2008 will make the Fair Tax an essential centerpiece of their platform.
