Dirty politics afoot in MN 6th CD...

I received a letter today that trashed Andy Aplikowski and his bid for the MN 6th CD State Vice Chair. Among the mud slung in the letter:
As we begin planning for the important 2008 election, I believe it is critical that the individual we send to the Republican Party of Minnesota's State Executive Committee have the character, maturity and experience necessary for such important responsibilities.

Sadly, I do not believe Andy Aplikowski possesses these qualities. Through his own words, Mr. Aplikowski has repeatedly disappointed conservative activists like me with his shrill, inappropriate, and counterproductive actions.
The letter then goes on to cherrypick a number of passages from Andy's blog, trying to make the case that Andy was "disappointing conservatives" and that others were "afraid to speak out for fear of recriminations."

I have known Andy personally, and have been an avid reader of Residual Forces for a number of years now; and I'm here to tell you that no one person works more tirelessly for Republican and conservative causes than does Andy! I have supported his run for Vice Chair of MN 6th CD since its inception; particularly because Andy pulls no punches and is not afraid to spank the party apparatus when it needs one.

Additionally, for this jerkwad to cherrypick quotes from Andy's blog is so below the bar.

I believe that there are rants that you can pull out of anyone's personal blog (including this one) if you search long and hard enough, that can look pretty incendiary when taken out of the context of the times and the situation. To many, blogs are not only informational; rather, to borrow a term from one of my favorites, many are "thunderjournals;" a place where the writer can vent his/her personal feelings. For instance, this bald-faced coward took a quote of Andy's made after the 6th CD endorsing convention which was critical of Bachmann; what the writer failed to note was that it was Andy who helped start Bachmann v. Wetterling; a blog that was arguably instrumental in helping Bachmann to win in the 6th CD.

The real kicker of all this, the writer of the letter was too cowardly to bother to provide his name or address; the letter, with no return address, was simply signed,
Please join me in voting against Andy Aplikowski this Saturday.

Concerned Republican Activist
Well, Mr. "Concerned Republican Activist," if you're so "concerned" about the Republican party, why are you engaging in democrat smear tactics? And furthermore, why be a coward about adding your name?

Andy signs his name to every piece he writes; it is out there for all to see. And you have the gall to go about like a fifth grade monkey flinging poo in a typed, un-signed piece-of-crap letter than has all the class of a ransom note!

Let me tell you, "Concerned Republican Activist,"--

If you truly are a Republican, I want you to get the hell off our team.

With "concerned activists" like you, who needs democrats?

****UPDATE****

Andy Responds.
