Thinking Blogger Award

I've had the distinct honor of being tagged by Cynthia over at Gazing at the Flag with the "Thinking Blogger Award."

While Gazing at the Flag would certainly be on my short list, there are quite a few blogs that make me think.

Some blogs do it with the velvet hammer of humor and sarcasm.

The Kool-Aid-Report is one of those, with a no-holds-barred battle royal against the forces of nihlistic idiocy we fondly call liberalism.

Speaking of nihlists, another of my favorites is Nihlist in Golf Pants, the blog that made the "Top 11 List" famous.

Both of the above make me laugh out loud while at the same time making me think!

On the more sane side of the spectrum, we have The Night Writer. Jon has a way with words that can bite without biting. His daughters, bards in their own right, often contribute there as well.

Chicago Ray is a hard hitter who is also a top-notch graphic and web designer.

And speaking of hard hitters, there is no harder hitting investigative journalism going on in the blogosphere than what happens at Gary Gross' Let Freedom Ring. Cutting edge is an understatement!

Hammerswing is a blog done by a guy with a heart the size of China. Ben is a recovering alcoholic-turned seminarian, and his thoughts about day-to-day life is something everyone can benefit from.

Finally, I'd be remiss without mentioning the Thinking Blog's Thinking Blog, Little Cicero.
Little Cicero is a high school senior that would make the likes of Plato and Aristotle stare in wild-eyed amazement. The grasp that this young man commands of world issues is nothing less than astounding.

Should you choose to participate, please make sure you pass this list of rules to the blogs you are tagging. The participation rules are simple:
1). If, and only if, you get tagged, write a post with links to 5 blogs that make you think,
2). Link to this post so that people can easily find the exact origin of the meme,
3). Optional: Proudly display the ‘Thinking Blogger Award’ with a link to the post that you wrote.
