I'm a liberal, (and I'm here to help)...

Look for grocery prices to skyrocket:
Ethanol Push Adds to Forces Lifting Food Costs

Americans face sizable increases in their grocery bills this year as a boom in ethanol production diverts more corn from the nation's dinner table to its gas tank. Indeed, their pocketbooks could feel the pinch for years to come.

High corn prices, bad weather and steep energy costs have combined to make food a bigger potential contributor to inflation this year than it has been at least since 2004, when a cutback in dairy production boosted dairy prices and beef prices rose as mad-cow disease disrupted trade.

The Agriculture Department says that retail food prices are likely to climb
This is emblematic of the Liberals' Law of Unintended Consequences.

The enviro-whacko socialist wing of liberalism, in the name of scare-mongering pseudo-science, have blocked nearly every attempt at exploration of and/or extraction of domestic oil resources in the past three decades. They have done this by pushing their propaganda machine of political correctness to burnish the notion that rather than weaning ourselves of foreign oil by simultaneously harvesting our own oil resources and developing sustainable alternatives for the future, we should singlemindedly abandon our own ready resources, and go for less-efficient means; even if it means sending our economy, national security, and progress as a nation back to the stone age.

And the lemmings from both sides of the political spectrum have bought this B.S. as gospel; and we are now in the process of reaping what they have sown.

Now we have the likes of Ahmanutjob and Hugo "Socialism at the point of a gun" Chavez with which to contend.

Liberals. Can't. Link.

Period.

And the supposedly conservative lemmings; who, in the name of political gain or expediency, buy and/or cave in to their twisted chicken-little game based on false premises are no better than the enviro-whackos who have them on lead.

When the big push for corn ethanol came about during the 1980s, even I, as a young lad, thought, "Well, if they use all our corn for ethanol, what are we going to use for food?"

It appears that the enviro-whacko libs, being championed on the shoulders of their all-too-willing counterparts in the agricultural lobby, either didn't think that far, or saw too many dollar signs in their eyes to give a damn. Now third world nations who depended on inexpensive corn no longer have inexpensive corn with which to feed their people. So, enviro-whacko liberals and the lemmings who followed them can be said to be responsible for an upcoming period of famine.

This reminds me of an old joke:

Q: What's more stupid than an idiot trying to build a foundation for a house in the middle of quicksand?

A: Another idiot trying to build a house on that foundation.

To err is human.

To really get things FUBAR'ed takes a liberal.

To get things really FUBAR'ed takes a "conservative" who buys into the liberal bullshit.
