Embryonic stem cell benefits and other fairy tales...

Two stalwart dogmatic lies of the left: the exaggerated human effect of global warming (or the exaggerated threat thereof), and the "benefits" to be had by snuffing out the life of a yet-to-be born human being.

The dogma of global warming allows the left a cover for their agenda of tearing down the U.S. economy and its untiring march toward socialism; the dogma of embryonic stem cell benefits protects the sanctity of their most revered sacrament: that of abortion.
(CNSNews.com) -Democrats in the House of Representatives on Thursday once again passed legislation that would expand federal funding for embryonic stem cell research, but Republicans pledged to uphold an anticipated presidential veto.

The House on Thursday afternoon passed the Stem Cell Research Enhancement Act, which increases the number of embryonic stem cells available for research funded with federal dollars. The bill passed the Senate (63-34) in April.

In a news conference with Republican opponents of the bill before the bill was passed 247-176, House Minority Leader John Boehner (R-Ohio) said he is "very confident that we have the votes to uphold the president's veto."

"There have been no cures, no solutions that have come from the development of embryonic stem cells," Boehner said. "This is not a wise use of federal dollars."
Exactly. And that, my friends, is the rarely-addressed dirty little secret. Unlike adult stem cells and cord blood stem cells, embryonic stem cells are highly unstable, and more often than not metastasize during research. Therefore, their current and predicted utility in ongoing research is questionable, at best.

Liberals, of course know this.

But they also know that along with losing that argument, they lose a key piece of their propaganda war; in their quest to make the notion that a developing human being is a mere mass of tissue that much more palatable to the electorate.

When it comes down to it, it must really suck to have your agenda moved forth by dogmatic contrivances.
