On recycling ... and other pseudo-scientific fallacies..

My good friend Ben at Hammerswing has a great post (followup here) in which he makes a very cogent case against recycling. I encourage you to read both posts--it will be very much worth the time (as are all of Uncle Ben's screeds).

IMO, the practice of recycling is just one more paving stone on the road to human hell, laid with "good intentions" by our enviro-whacko friends on the left.

Of particular illustrative interest is one of the comments left on the thread by a particularly well-intentioned, but true-to-form ill-thinking moonbat, who stated:
I understand your points for energy usage that recycling requires, but extracting and processing the raw materials have an enormous environmental impact, eg extracting aluminium from virgin lands in developing countries where there is not environmental policies inplaced, eg big corporates polluting the land of other notsofortunate people.(sic)
To which I responded
What you libs continue to fail to take into account is the very real human cost of your pseudo-scientific forays into nothingness...

How about the jobs that are created for local people when aluminum is extracted from those virgin lands..(virgin lands?? Should they be using a condom?--liberals' usage of anthropromorphisms in describing the earth is becoming legion--but I digress)

Just what happens to the local notsoforunate peoples' livelihood, their ability to feed and clothe their children, when you and yours--in the name of socialism seeped in junk science--go and shut down an aluminum mine or even a logging operation?

But, as always, liberals have always had a classic inability (I term it as outright refusal) to link the very real consequences of their policies.

Humans be damned!! Our goddess Mother Earth, and her bastard child socialism, uber alles!!
A good fisking is great for the soul. Thanks, Uncle Ben, for providing an opporunity.
