Getting bit by their own dog...
It would appear that San Francisco, a city whose power structure lives and dies by the sword of diversity (of skin color, not thought) and enforced political correctness, is getting bit by the dog it feeds: (emphases mine)
You see, in San Francisco, the petri dish's petri dish for absolute liberal social experimentation, the Constitutional right to freedom of speech is not the issue; indeed the concept of "Freedom of Speech" is completely alien to a culture that demands adherence to politically correct thought, speech and behavior. Rather, getting singled out for discipline for speaking was the issue! They have learned well from their mentors, have they not?SAN FRANCISCO - Eighteen police officers who were suspended from their jobs after making a Christmas party video that parodied life on the force sued the city on Thursday, alleging they were victims of racial bias because they were disciplined while four Asian-American officers were not.
The plaintiffs in the lawsuit include officers - both man (sic) and women - who are black, Hispanic and white, said their attorney, Waukeen McCoy. The four officers who took part in the video but were not suspended are of Chinese descent, as is Police Chief Heather Fong, who also was named as a defendant in the case, according to McCoy.
"I look at the Chinese-American officers who participated in the same video as the other groups and they weren't disciplined at all," McCoy said. "There were singled out and treated more favorably, and that is a violation of law."
Homophobic? I guess Mayor Newsome is just genetically programmed to throw that slur in for good measure; for to them, the complete phrase, "racist, sexist and homophobic" comes as trippingly and robotically off the toungue as does "peas and carrots."Regardless, the City of San Francisco, to the tune of $20,000,000, is about to find out that the consequences unleashed by their Frankenstein creation of the subculture of multiculturalism and enforced political correctness don't discriminate between "evil conservatives," nor their moonbat counterparts. Two dozen officers were suspended without pay in December after city officials uncovered the 28-minute video, which contained scenes of a white officer driving over a black homeless woman and a traffic cop pulling over a woman and ogling her. Mayor Gavin Newsom and Fong quickly condemned the clips, calling them racist, sexist and homophobic.
The suit, filed in San Francisco Superior Court, also claims that because of the mayor and chief's public denunciation of the video they suffered retaliation, defamation and intentional infliction of emotional distress.
They lawsuit seeks $20 million in damages.
