Open mouth--insert foot.

...no--not Learned Foot. I mean the foot that tastes a bit like crow:
Gym Instructor Mocks Bush In Front Of First Daughters Tue Apr 25 2006 10:32:05 ET A spinning instructor at Washington, DC's Sports Club/LA mocked President Bush without realizing (believe it or not) that a first daughter was in his class! ROLL CALL reports: The instructor, Glenn Makl, is said to be horrified to learn after class that the president's daughter Jenna was there to hear his making fun of President Bush and handing out of a video clip compilation of some of the president's more memorable gaffes and malapropisms. Jenna Bush was working out at the club with her boyfriend, who later complained about the politcal ranting of the trainer, a source tells the DRUDGE REPORT. Developing...
...First of all, just what does a "spinning instructor" teach? But I digress.

This reminds me of a story of what happened during grad school. One of my colleagues shared a ride from Eau Claire to Trempeleau, Wisconsin every day for a month with another girl as part of her internship. During their hour-long ride, there was very little to talk about, except the goings on at school. So my colleague endlessly ranted on every day about one of our professors (not many of us had much use for him, actually); about how he was a ninny, a know-nothing, scatterbrained, etc.

Well, this went on for about a month, until one day we were all invited to this professor's house for a professor/grad student get together. Well, my colleague was there as well, as was the young lady with whom she shared a ride every day. They began conversing, and after a little while this professor came up to them, looked my colleague in the eye, and said, "Michelle--I see you've met my daughter."

Interestingly enough, Michelle was the only one among us who failed her comps (something that our esteemed professor had a large part in grading).
